Yeah, I know her mindset. She was graduating college, and in that "let's go nuts" period with the rest of your life ahead of you. Literally drunk as hell every night and no real obligations and nothing was going to take that feeling away at the time. It's a really unfortunate situation that happened, but I'm sure she isn't a bad person at all.

this actually happened to my dad and my grandfather, in my grandfathers case the childs father watched his kid run directly in front of the car, he even told the police it was not my grandfathers fault, nobody died in either incidents though

I’d have to read their report but it was a different region in the dept that did it so I don’t have access to it. My guess would be whether the pedestrians that got hit were drunk too. Chit happens and I’ve been to multiple crashes that end up that way.


For the sentencing I’m surprised she only got 14 with 4 felony counts

Per the statute:
(G) A violation of subparagraph (F) of paragraph (1)

of this subsection (d) is a Class 2 felony, for which the defendant, unless the court determines that extraordinary circumstances exist and require probation, shall be sentenced to: (i) a term of imprisonment of not less than 3 years and not more than 14 years if the violation resulted in the death of one person; or (ii) a term of imprisonment of not less than 6 years and not more than 28 years if the violation resulted in the deaths of 2 or more persons.
