I think possibly because it has a religious part to it as well. I am not really religious but have studied various religions and in some cases it is said we are created with all knowledge, or the same knowledge as the creator. Or that we can will stuff with our minds etc. For example i believe it is the bible that says if you have true faith you can move mountains with your mind, but even a grain of doubt will keep you from doing it. And since most people don’t believe this stuff then they can’t. The “religious” part of it makes most people just consider it crazy talk.
