You can do whatever your heart desires, as long as it's nothing illegal. Depending on your past you may need to talk to a Security clearance person if you go Enroute, as you need a "Secret" clearance for center

I am very interested in this if I can work from home.

Lol... I will say tho that CPDLC (think like a text based system) is very much a more common thing now in the enroute world, and routes/requests/altitude changes/altimeter changes/frequency changes, etc are basically becoming all text based now.

It's crazy within the past few years the difference in frequency changes for high altitude.. I feel like we barely are even talking some days compared to the past cause you just are waiting for a flash through, then shipping them via CPDLC (like a text based feature) to the next sector and not having to say a word, just waiting for them to acknowledge that they read it and are changing
