My mother's side of the family are aboriginal making me a small percentage and can confirm its wild.
It's been bad since I was a kid 90s/early 2000s but has gotten much worse in my local Qld Brisbane area , the under 18s treat my suburb as a car lot and sneak in a night stealing keys to BMW's, Mercedes, Audi's and other high end cars.

Edit:

The wife and I immediately sold our brand new cars in 2020 when 1 in 4 houses in our local area had there car stolen in a space of 8 weeks.

If you can't move homes, I would put in a front fence and an automatic sliding gate as a deterrent. I've got a fairly tall, picket style, aluminium front fence. Anyone tries to scale and jump over that chit they're gonna have a bad time.
