I usually like to go with what I know and the buildapcforme guys are legit and get you a list of parts that are the best bang for the buck.

I will say this looks like a professional website.

So you have 4 options.

1. You can have these guys design a build around your budget and see what they charge.

2. Or you can call those guys (or a competitor) and ask them if they can build a pc for you out of parts you already bought, then go to reddit.com/r/buildapcforme, give your budget, preferences regarding games and power and brands, tell them what you don't need (if you have a monitor already, psu, gpu, mouse, keyboard, etc), and get a list. Order it from every place and once all the parts come in, have those guys build it for you. Looks like they charge $70 an hour so you might want to ask how long it takes them to build the pc for you. An hour would be nice. More than 2 hours would be a little much IMO for a place that specializes in building PCs.

3. post on G&T and wait for a miscer to design a build for you.



The main things you should hash out is obviously budget, what kind of games you play or want to play in the future, at what settings, how future proofed do you want it to be (in years or something, ballpark).

Like Barteh said, if you play strategy games that's one thing, if you want Cyberpunk at 1440p ultrawide or 4k w/ psycho Raytracing, that's another type of build, if you want a mid/high range FPS machine, that's another. Figure out what res you want to run. 4k is great but pretty taxing on performance, then again 1440p usually looks fine on a 4k machine.

4. It might be worth looking to see if there's a Microcenter near you, their individual parts prices are good, but I don't know enough about the current market to know if their builds are fair. Here's a link to a variety of different specification machines vastly ranging in price:

If you were building a high end PC to run high level machine learning algorithms, I would say great. But then save your money and run it on AWS.

The value is different to everyone

The $5k+ I spent for my setup is worth it to me, and financially maybe it just doesn't hit me as hard, so it's not a big deal for me to spend that much on something, let alone something I'll enjoy for years to come.

It's not only videogames. Sometimes I edit videos (I call them home videos). My current PC feels like it's gonna blow everytime I am exporting it.

Also playing 1080p YouTube videos would be nice, but the highest I play them is at 360p otherwise computer heats up like crazy.

The dollar per entertainment hour is unmatched. Bought my PC parts for like $1,400 in 2016 and casemaxxed and peripheralmaxxed. Next build is probably coming soon. I paid $.54 per day for my last build. Easily got thousands of hours of work and entertainment on it. Most people are walking around with cellphones with busted ass screens they dropped a grand on and upgrade every 3 years. Not hard to figure out.

AMD has PSP. any processor 2013 and beyond has it. phenom ii x6 from 2012 doesnt have it. so when the jews crack down i'll be gtg

Plus factor in that you can use the same keyboard, mouse, controller, not paying for PS+ or Xbox Live, you will own your games through every build you ever make unless Steam goes bankrupt (unlikely), emulators, you make up some cost here and there.

Still paying a premium, but it's nice having productivity and gaming in 1 place and you do make up for it elsewhere. PC game sales are pretty nuts, there's sites like isthereanydeal, or if you're willing to risk going to gray area sites like allkeyshop, cdkeys, etc, you can save a ton more.

I've only once been burned from cdkeys out of probably 40 games.

I would never spend more than 3k on a pc.

Lol the only problem I have with that is if parts get broken, then shiiieeet.

I think it was my friend who told me he like installed the processor chip after putting that glue on it backwards or something like that and basically had to blow money on another one. It was a lol story, but fuk, do not want that happening to me.

It's like buying a car really. I use my computer for everything, might as well get good mileage out of it and invest in it.

My $800 computer is still working and it's over a decade old, but need to replace it. If it was faster, I would probably still be using it until it died.

Go to your nearest microcenter. Even if it's like a 2 hour drive they will help you get all the parts and build for you. Mines about 90 minutes away and still worth the drive.

They aren't hard to "assemble" because thats all you are doing. Plugging in wire a into port b. Its very very easy to do. If someone has done one they can easily do another. The worst thing I have ever done was bend a ton of pins on a processor but that was because of a dumb accident and my pc is still running fine. What I did was one level below the guy who put thermal paste all over the pin sides lol. You really have to try to mess up a build. Stop overthinking it. Just get someone to assemble it for you. Water cooling loops aside from AIO is where I would maybe be worried.

Are those games using all of those cores?

Squad and Hell Let Loose are CPU bottlenecked too, but it all comes down to single core IPC.

Thanks OP, I figured this out when I was 10 years old.

PC building is fun at the building part. Get it all set up and start playing some games for a few hours and youre done unless you are a nerdcel.

I got the top of the line in 2020, used it for like a year and sold everything. Just built it again this month and already bored of it. There are no new games that arent the same chit we seen past 10 years. All the top AAA already played them. Next disrupter will be actual unreal engine 5 full games and GTA6.

I was looking at this just now. The closest one is in LA. It's barely over an hour. That's less than was I used to commute lol

But it looks like that one in Carlsbad is basically the same idea. They get all the parts together for you, (or you can send them the parts yourself and they assemble it for you, I think).

I am going to look at the resources provided (throughout the month) and will see what all those different parts do tomorrow. Gonna have notepad ready. Damn this is like when I was deciding what console to buy. I'm sure it'll be worth it though. Want to stop being a dumb fuk just going to Staples to buy a new computer. I used to go to Fry's actually, but I think those went bankrupt a while ago.

In all real tea, I most likely just need a PC that can run first person shooters and old school games. I never really thought about how different genres of games require different PC setup. I legitimately thought it was like a console, where you can pretty much play anything you want, so I get the dipchit of the day award for that one lol

How about buying just a 4090FE without the other parts needed to build the PC is that worth it ?

Oh man, don't even talk to me about pins. I get anxiety just thinking about it. I got this s-video cord for my PS2 and I inserted it gently into the input side, and I bent everything in that bish. Had to use tweezers to attempt to straighten that chit out, I also one time tried to connect an old internet coaxial cable into the wall and chit pin just snapped and got stuck in the outlet, so I had no internet for a week or so.

Would be nice if there were workshops or colleges offered classes on this type of stuff. It's like when I installed a virtual machine on my wife's computer. It's like yea, we figured it out, but man it was a hassle.
