It’s totally bull**** I’m honestly considering just becoming a poorcell and getting obamacare or something I only make around 45k a year anyways and I never go to the doctor it’s total bull**** I have to pay so much. If you are gonna quit paying healthcare drive a huge truck so you probably won’t get injured in an accident and obviously don’t ride a motorcycle or anything like that.

I've actually considered this. Income is down this year, and looking for ways to cut back. Seems like something I'm paying $400 per month with zero benefits is a good wayy.

I don’t even understand health insurance. I’ve had it for most of my life, but I’ve never used it. My job offers good health insurance but I was the one person to opt out

A while back i would have said it is just for emergencies, don't worry, but lately i have seen some weird chit happen which may or may not make you want to consider it.

1. increase in colon cancer in young people
2. flesh eating stuff in water and other places
3. strange diseases that disappeared long ago returning
4, best friend(lifter) had a nerve condition that required surgery or he could have been paralyzed.
5. the usual Cancer Heart attacks, strokes at younger ages.
There is an unspoken thing, we are iron brothers and sisters, we are to support each other and...It is our duty to support our brothers and sisters in the iron game!

I guess if you're self-employed, you pay more.

I was employed by the gov't, and healthcare premium was $250/mo. $4000/$6000 deductible w/ the Gov't giving me $2k/yr into HSA which rolled over. (effectively making my deductible $2k less.) Was awesome actually.

Anyway, couldn't really save and invest those premiums in savings in the last 10 years because at the time, when I had a family, it was nothing to go through $4k/yr with 2 kids and a wife in healthcare costs.

Fuark... you telling me you're up in Flag, and you're riding.... ROAD?! WTF. Get in the dirt and trees up there, mang!

No thanks. I was perfectly healthy in the best shape of my life at 28 years old, then overnight was in the hospital having emergency surgery to remove part of my colon due to diverticulitis, almost got to live the rest of my life pooping into a bag attached to a hole in my stomach.

Great Aetna insurance, it was about 2.5k out of pocket.

It would have been 124k without insurance


What we really should just have is universal Healthcare but that's a whole other bag of dicks to get into
