i've ate whatever i want and how much i want all my life and never had to worry about weight gain. not sure how people get so hungry to maintain such fat weights. maybe when most people get older the grind of soul sucking work, kids, fat social media addicted wife makes eating one of the last pleasures left.

Almost nobody has active hobbies anymore. Soon as they hit 21 and start drinking regularly it's over.

my ex and her friends liked drinking, smoking weed and something like floating down a river while doing both. tried the lifestyle for 4 years with her but it felt retarded after 1.5-2 years

I would imagine it's natural and healthy to fill out at least somewhat in your 20s but yes for the majority of people if they don't gym and develop decent eating habits it will become apparent at one point or another.

I worked out for the majority of my 20s but either didnt eat enough or ate poorly. At 28 I got divorced and moved in with a friend who lifted and started developing better habits. 8 months later I got my own place and got more into meal prepping/macro-tracking and being more rigid with fitting in physical activity almost everyday, even if I didn't have time for a full gym session.
Then I bought a house and put a home gym in my basement in 2020 which took everything to another level and I can't see myself regressing anytime soon.

One of the reasons I go to the gym now is because I don't want to be one of those washed looking brahs in their 30s. I honestly feel bad when I see an over the hill dude with a gut. I started to clean up my diet starting in February and have lost a decent amount of weight.

Stop associating age with metabolism. It’s their chitty lifestyle that changes their metabolism.

Also, it ain’t just men. Women in their 20s do the same chit because of their garbage eating, sleeping, activity.

Wait til you are my age kiddo. Me and my girl were just talking about this the other day. I weigh 189 at around 5’ 11” and workout 3 hard times a week. I’m probably top 5% of guys my age just by not being a sloppy lard ass. In the summer I bike a lot. Tbh I’m in good shape but not spectacular until you look at the chubby Timmy’s

In bad areas, not fat is top 5%, fit and not fat is top 1% at those ages.
