It's so underrated because of its rough launch, but it's one of the best games I've ever played.

Game seems good. And the dlc seems like a step up visually, glad it’s only current gen

It's a shell of what was promised. I was on the hype train for years and I heard so much talk about all the systems, interactivity, customization and feeling like you're in a "living breathing world". And don't get me started on the life paths that never happened. I was sold on a lie and it's the reason I no longer follow hype trains on games.
Ignoring all that was promised and just judging it as an AAA game, I'd say it's a 6 or 7 if you really enjoy the cyberpunk setting. My main issue was the main story, which felt short, uncompelling and broken up by badly paced cutscenes and tedious stuff like braindances. I remember while playing the game, I was complaining about how much walking and talking the game has vs gameplay.
And this is coming from a Sonycel walking simulator enjoyer. You won't believe how many of the game is you passing out on the floor and have to crawl while the screen gets blurry and you hear this awful sound which I despise.

FF16 is attached to Sony's brand so hard that if it flopped, everyone would be chitting on Sony and you know this. Many people are praising the graphics. Not me. I didn't even buy it, and I won't until it's either up to my standard or ported to PC.
I just started Elden Ring and I'm having a blast...WAY more exciting than Cyberpunk. Is Elden Ring a Sony game?

I loved my time playing cyberpunk, it has some amazing stuff about it, I love the setting and tone, there's some awesome characters in there, some really awesome missions.
Still it's not half what was promised, even at this stage. You can tell there's a lot of stuff that clearly had to be sacrificed, left out and cut from the game and it has this unfinished feel to it. There's a lot of areas on the map that are barely used.
It's definitely worth playing though, 100%,but tgie game, honestly it still needs more post launch support, like even beyond phantom liberty, they should still be patching, polishing and improving this game for like another 5 years if they wanted to get close to what was promised, but from what I understand phantom liberty is their last major update.
It's gonna top out as a 8/10 I think. Right now it's a 7, PL will likely add 1 to the score.

I said she because you can't play as a he because the male voice actor is unspeakably bad and also the lesbian romance is better so play as a female.

Those who remember my old thread "Do you even game, bro?" know how much I love Ghost of Tsushima, but even that universally loved game imo pale in comparison to the experience that I got with Cyberpunk 2077. The only thing Ghost of Tsushima has better is its melee system, but overall, story-wise, writing, the details of the open world - I can play Cyberpunk 2077 again and again even after completing it without getting tired, but after finishing Ghost of Tsushima, there's really not much to do but to fight Mongolian stragglers.

Finally got around to Cyberpunk 2077 last year and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Based on the trailers I thought I was going to have Jackie Wells but even though his part is smaller I really liked how quickly the comradery developed between V and him. Been considering a second playthrough as a chick because as others have said the voice actor for the dude is sub par. Great story, good combat, great RPG and crafting for the type of game it is.
