What do you cal it when oligarchs get rich by taking dumb risks and then When the whole house of cards collapses they get taxpayers to bail them out

While also preventing those same taxpayers from receiving any debt relief

I think most places would call that systemic corruption but not sure

One of the main things that bothers me with this world is how society has handled technology... particularly social media/telecommunications/internet.

It used to be that you'd write letters, travel long distances for work or something, and that these moments would afford yousituational solitude. Now with WFH, cellphones, you've got people bugging you 24/7 365, to the point of some of them getting obsessed about it. My mother was hurt I didn't make a ******** post about a gift she gave me. Every girl I've dated has gotten emotional / angry / sad because I didn't respond on my phone fast enough or give acknowledgement to every word they sent me.

Anyway, I'm sure that's a good bit off topic, but wanted to rant without making my own thread, and this thread's topic seemed close enough.

The world ain't perfect, but we can enjoy it and look to the bright side just the same. Including the brightness of our phones.

Having been to 3rd world countries before. I'd say any major city, yes. Any relative poor area, yes. Only places that even remotely resemble the "American Dream" anymore are any suburbs that are at least 30 minutes away from any major city. Combination of farming communities mixed with newer housing. Everything else is sht.
