Started watching them when they were cKy videos and Big Brother. The Jackass show and movies were solid, too. Watched all the Steve-O side sh!t (PCP Saved My Life, etc.)
When they started to do the spin-offs like Wild Boys and Viva La Bam, I stopped watching. But every now and again I want to go relive all of them from the cKy days up through Viva La Bam.

cKy had a better blend than just stunts, gross out stuff, and pranks. There were some skits, songs, and skating to balance everything out more. The video editing was actually pretty innovative at the time.
Steve-O had the heavy focus on drugs and debauchery, along with painful stunts.
Jackass was more gross-out humor, prank, and painful stunt focused.

The format of the Jackass crew and Tom Green was revolutionary, they basically started YouTube before YouTube. And that era was so much fun, loved growing up in the 90s.

All of them had actual balls compared to what pha660ts do on the internet now, making little head turn lip-sync videos.

I saw a few episodes, it was solid. The Ryan Dunn show where he destroyed houses was good too.
Me and a lot of friends were skating and riding BMX back then, so we were obsessed with the whole cKy / Jackass thing for years.

I don't remember what took my attention from the later shows from them. Maybe WWF? N64 games? Always wanted to go back and watch Wild Boyz and Viva La Bam (maybe even Unholy Union) in full. It's all hella nostalgic.

Like most things, it was always hit or miss for me.

I enjoyed the more silly, trolly things like the guy with the toy car up his ass or fireworks in Phil's truck, but the bits where it was just pure pain type of stuff like getting shot with riot suppression ammo or a baby gator biting steveo's nipple I could have done without.

Overall though I would say it was a net positive, brought lulz, and OP is a ph@gg0t

Never found it funny neither tbh

I don't get what is funny about people hurting themselves

Only thing I found funny was some of Johny Knoxville's jokes but not many of the "stunts"

It was funny when I was 11 years old for sure. It was also a pretty new genre back then and was wild to watch.

It isn't funny now that I'm older.

It is actually pretty interesting seeing the different paths they all took. Knoxville is doing well in Hollywood, Bam is basically a junkie, steve O looks great, Dunn died, then you have guys like Dico who just live normal suburban lives
Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.
