It's just an entitled attitude wfhcels have. wahhh why should I have to go to work, I'm special. Also them....lol I wake up at 755, log in at 8, misc for 2 hours, walk the dog, go have lunch, come back do 1 hour of work and watch a movie. Not jealous, as I could have a job working from home tomorrow if I wanted, but I do NOT want to be trapped in my house all day as beautiful as my house is. Even when I had the option, I went to a coffee shop to do reports and prepare proposals. It's just extremely lazy to whine about having to actually be at work. It's literally the most basic thing.

They should have a system where if they want you in the office then fine, but as soon as you’re finished what you need to do you’re able to take off.

The problem with office jobs is that you’re hardly busy for the entire 8 hours or whatever. Making employees sit around in an office to check a box makes no sense.

It shouldn’t be about hours worked it should be about efficiency and tasks completed. 9-5 is so arbitrary and dumb.

People get uncomfortable with changes in status quo. Miscers are hostile toward A LOT of things. Lots up upsides and downsides to so many jobs becoming remote, and obviously it depends on the industry and the specific job. I don't understand the near automatic hostility though.

I think that's part of the hostility. Most everyone knows commercial real estate is headed for a downfall, which even for people not good at putting the pieces of the economic puzzle together they know will have negative downstream effects. But there are two sides to every coin, where some of the economic problems we've had since Covid started improve (inflation, car prices, house prices normalize). Pluses and minuses and unfortunately the minuses will be blared like a bullhorn in media. Panic!! Why aren't you panicking? Panic NOW we said!!!
