Longest commute (temporary assignment of 2 weeks) was 1 hour each way. No way I would do that long-term unless I was highly paid. Longest normal commute times for my work would be 30 mins by car or 45 mins biking (college student at the time) but it was bearable.

Honestly would not go back to any commute now that I am WFH. Hate getting cucked by employers needing to be in an office when I can do my work on a laptop/computer at home.

We have one 10 minutes away. BRB can't support a Family with Dollar General.

30 min commute isnt bad. 15-20 min is ideal, I've had a 5 min commute and that sucked, didn't even get a chance to listen to one song. Having a car that you actually like makes a difference, I'd be depressed if I had to spend 1hr a day in a corolla.

Our biggest concern is too keep our kids close to Family....but.

If we moved we would move about 40 minutes from my Job, which would put us around 45 minutes to 1 hour to family. Which wouldn't be bad.

We would also sell our current home pay off vehicles and stack about 80k in the bank. 80k extra in savings and down to a mortgage payment only is my goal.

Assuming you work 5 days a week, that's 260 working days a year.
260 x 24 minutes = 6240 minutes / 60 = 104 hours / 24 = 4.3.

That's 4.3 full days of driving for 20k. Or roughly $5000 extra income per year, per full day of driving. Minus off gas, tire wear, suspension wear, engine wear, car depreciation etc.
Is it worth it?
If you meant 24 minutes one way, then you're talking 8.6 full days of driving for 20k, or $2325 per day of driving. And as before you have to take off car consumables and depreciation off of those earnings. Not to mention 'priceless' considerations such as higher chance of being involved in a road traffic accident, time away from kids/wife/hobbies like the gym etc

My work car is a 2018 Camry paid for 28mpg. I also have to factor in the weekends as well. Now I work about 10 Saturdays per year, new job will be 0

depends on the drive if there is traffic then id rather suk dink behind a dumpster and survive off of mcdonalds, if no traffick then it aint bad.

The 1 hr 24 min drive according to google...which I can actually make in 1 hr 15 literally has 4 red lights 87% highway.
