I work around 40 per week. You GUARANTEE me that i'll take home a similar amount as a 40 hours week then sure. But if you cant guarantee me that the difference WONT come out of my paycheck or anyone elses (like if who ever says they will make up the difference) AND other things in society wont go up in price, then sure.
Otherwise, take that chit to the nonexistant liberal utopias out there

Bruh most ppl withreal jobs don't even get a 40 hour work week - 50 if you are lucky. 32 will never happen unless AI really fukks things up.

Always felt people would get the same if not more work done with less hours. Just get in, do your work and leave.
If you have a long work day its only natural to spend portions of it non productive.

I would much rather just eliminate the government saying what is and isn't a standard workweek

No, it sounds great on paper, but ultimately I think it'd fuk the average person over. Think about customer service or low level jobs, the companies are either going to have to charge more for their services, or reduce their hours. Business's aren't going to just accept paying people overtime or hiring more people and not push the burden on the rest of us.
Plus wtf does the average person do in his/her free time that warrants an extra 8 hrs off a week? jack off, watch netflix, social media? For some industries it's a good idea because most people don't have enough work to do in a 40 hr week.

Obviously productivity is more important than face time. But if you are Mr. Shekelstein, paying someone a salary and benefits based on the assumption of 40 hrs/week, why would you accept "well I'm so productive that I can do 40 hrs of work of a normal person in 2 hours"? Great, fit in 38 more hours of hyper productive work, bish.
This is why we will never actually get worker rights back in the USA (they've been on the decline since like 1960): because the (((people))) who are against worker rights are incredibly smart and crafty, and the people purporting to be for worker rights have chit level cunning and intelligence, but think they are geniuses, which makes them the easiest ppl to manipulate.

I’m in favor of a 10 hour workweek if I could make it but it don’t work like that. I’ve been working 60 plus hours per week most of my life. The only thing I got out of it was a padding and I’ve recently hit a depression. Like I’m worth more than this and I’ve busted my ass my entire life to only be viewed as the help. It is what it is op but damn I want to pork your sister
