We are experiencing a gerontocracy. This is when politicians and rulers gain so much wealth and power as a result of how long they have been in office, that they refuse to retire. It's virtually impossible for someone to be in power for the that long without being completely corrupt.

This is absolutely a sign that term limits are needed more than ever.

Pelosi, Feinstein, Biden, McConnell... look at the age and length of time served of the most corrupt people and government.

Only president in our lifetime to support term limits on cities and senate was President Trump.

Remember that when they try smearing him with everything , it’s a gravy train they don’t want to end.

Nobody will run against him. I mean they will, but nobody credible. He has so many legacy backers it's almost impossible to unseat them. Same with Pelosi, Waters, Schumer, Feinstein, and a bunch of others. Also because they are speaker or high ranking, they have more power so people of that district see them as being more powerful for them.

Kentucky was one of the 5 poorest states in the union when Moscow Mitch was first elected over 30 years ago.

Today they are still one of the 5 poorest states.

Kentucky only survives because $Billions of dollars are sucked out of the hardworking blue states.

Turn off that money and see what happens.

As some have joked they lose their butt. Our former next door neighbor was a product developing scientist for Pfizer drugs, He quickly developed Alzheimers, his memory was shot, and he lost his rear end.
Happened to my wife’s uncle. He went downhill really quick, I don’t think Mitch has much longer to go.

You'd like to think he's definitely been diagnosed, and if he had been told he has Alzheimer's he'd step down. But judging from a lot of politicians, he'll drop dead in office instead. Just hope he doesn't make any serious decisions while his mind is going.

I have no love loss for the evil turtle, but barring that I felt bad for him the first time because it could happen to anyone, especially over a certain age. I felt like continuing to film someone having a medical event much less airing that was very dehumanizing.

However, I don't have any sympathy when you refused to resign after the first time and doubled down when you continued to take press conferences knowing you're not well. Applies to Feinstein as well.

I guess term limits get after the problem in a roundabout way, although I'd be more in favor of something like pegging the mandatory retirement age to the life expectancy at the very least. At least then even the corrupt lizards would be incentivized to make the line go up. Term limits aren't great if you have someone relatively young, effective and popular that is getting pushed out due to a technicality, not voter choice.

Or even better, abolish the Senate because it's an anti-democratic institution.

These are not the kind of people that can retire and just sit around waiting for death.

It's utterly pathetic though. No sympathy for any of these pathetic cogsuckers who just sat around taking bribes their entire careers to fck the rest of us over. Fck em.

Yep, thats how my grandmothers last days were.

She was 87 living alone going on morning walks, doing all of her shopping, paying all her bills, would go to church every sunday to play the piano had an insanely huge garden in her back yard. Due to her advanced age she had to retake the eye exam written AND behind the wheel test and passed it all with flying colors....then she picked up a bout of pneumonia...was hospitalized for a month. She survived it, but was SUPER weak still wanted to do things on her own. fell on the kitchen floor one day fractured her hip was bed ridden developed dementia and passed away a day after her 88th birthday. It all happened over the course of a year.

I've already decided that once I get to an advanced age and I start noticing chit going downhill with not sign of recover i'm just going to spend all my savings on a trip to Europe, travel to various countries and end my trip in Sweden so I can be euthanized in one of those pods.

Republicans shouldn't want Mitch to step down yet, because then the Democrat KY Governor Beshar will just replace him with a Democrat (who will be there til at least 2025). See if the GOP can win the Governorship in a couple months then have him resign. Start taking elections seriously.
