Is there anything more hilariously pathetic than how liberals describe January 6?

Regardless of who was at fault, you'd have to be a real smooth-brain to think you can freely walk into the Capitol Building without facing any consequences. I guess Americans have forgotten how their government functions? Literally any government owned building entered without permission is subject to an arrest, at the very least. To the people running the country, even casually strolling through is akin to an insurrection. Wouldn't go even if you paid me. No cuck, that's just how the US works. I get that some were duped and thought it would be ok, but come on, man. Did they really think it would be fine? I personally don't care about any of it, because I'm not even American and it's not like they were tearing things apart and destroying property, etc. But you still have to remember how stuff ACTUALLY works, even if you don't necessarily agree with it.

Speaks to the absolute state of the chitlibs and left wing politics in general if comments such as these actually attract this enlightened centrist towards conservatism but here we are. I guess this is pretty much Trump 2024 confirmed and I look forward to reading some of his completely unhinged and moronic insults now Elon has purchased Twitter and await with excitement to see how he handles the two term limit. Does he go full nothing to lose turbo grift with self pardon at the end? Or does he try and change that particular part of the constitution and transform the USA into a hereditary monarchy? UST has a nice ring to it.

I can't believe they are giving people 30 years in prison over this. Confederate generals didn't even get prison time.
I never thought I'd see the day when political prisoners were a thing in the USA but here we are.

I wish we could somehow go back in time to show the people involved how they would be viewed and treated afterwards.
Then watch them go “f*ck it- let’s all be the thing they will make us out to be”

Everyone should watch this. Interview with the former Capital Police Chief on Jan 6th. Why would the main stream media deny interviewing him? Why would they not want him to testify? Dude was very adamant about telling his side but that doesn't fit the narrative. Nancy feared for her life, LMAO that's so comical. She was the one who single handedly delayed the National Guard what, 6 hours, basically until it was over.
TONS of fookery going on there. The liberals baiting them into this and it worked perfectly as planned.

Not only did Nancy turn down extra security she had a film crew there to film her throughout.
Trump made a video calling for peaceful protest on January 6. It was scrubbed pretty hard and isn't easy to find. If you hadn't known of it you wouldn't even go looking.

Liberals have this strange way of thinking where they dont understand that everyone has internet access and can simply look stuff up for themselves and see the truth.
They honestly think they are the only ones who have internet and its some sort of special access only type thing.
Look how they talk about minorities getting I.D. They cant fathom they would have ever seen or used the internet. srs

Your whataboutisms regarding Bengazi and Ukraine have some validity but are only relevant to show "liberals" to be hypocritical in the things they criticise which is the m.o. for all political activists and I agree with your criticism of that. This does not justify what happened on Jan 6 and unless the "conservatives" want to be guilty of the same hypocrisy they should be condemning Jan 6th, not trying to diminish it as taking selfies.

Of course he isn't. I don't agree with the way he handled things post election at all, but, your take is too biased imo.The allegations there were agent provocateurs inciting the crowd I am prepared to entertain if there is evidence. Nevertheless, Trump had the clear means to speak out and talk those people down. Gathering with a gallows and chanting "hang Mike Pence" should not be acceptable political discourse in a democracy, neither is entering congress/whatever larping as a special forces operator and taking selfies. Not in the context of what business was being conducted by congress on Jan 6th and what scenes were happening out the front, could maybe play that off as a Halloween prank on Oct 31st. By not condeming it clearly and unequivocally much earlier Trump was condoning it and if it was a fed/liberal/jew conspiracy trap he walked into it like a total fool.
it's also worth remembering what people were protesting. It wasn't simply the election and the possibility of missing ballots, it was 4 years of the most biased reporting from news agencies we've ever seen, and local government leaders shutting down the economy beyond reasonable limits, because they knew hard economic times would hurt his chances of reelection. It was 4 years of mostly fabricated stories and manipulation by major outlets we were supposed to trust. A lot of this intentional manipulation being the reason so many were against Trump, for reasons that weren't true.
Like Trump or dislike him, it's hard to deny that, and that's why people were pissed.

I do acknowledge that only a small %age of Trump supporters participated and a lot of those that did were harmless, at worse naive and didn't really do anything seriously wrong and don't deserve much more than a slap on the wrist if even that. I agree the media and justice system has been hysterical in the prosecution of these people. A small proportion came dressed for violence, chanted violent slogans and some even engaged in violence. I condemn those in particular because even if they were just LARPers they contributed to creating a situation where real deal operators, be it foreign or domestic, republican or democrat could have used as a cover to slip in do real damage to democracy. That really happened and to ignore that and pretend it was all just political sports fans getting a bit carried away and invading the field to take selfies is not real life.
The next issue is where I think our points of view differ significantly. I watched the events of leading up to and culminating in Jan 6th and this is my genuine take on it, bias and all. Trump fermented that angry mob and directed their anger at Mike Pence. Yes of course he added disclaimer statements to avoid any actual treason charges but I believe his message was clear and understood by certain paramilitary groups and wannabe paramilitary groups alike and this is what lead to things becoming violent and I believe Trump did this to intimidate Mike Pence into not ratifying the election results, which would have effectively been a coup. So I believe he attempted a coup.
Your analogy with the local protest against police is lacking in it's comparison to Jan 6th for the following reasons. Firstly, has Biden been vocal in encouraging anger against the police in the lead up to this? Secondly is this anything near an issue for the federal government as a protest against an election at capitol hill?
My opinion that Trump had a duty to say more to prevent Jan 6th turning into what it did comes from his actions in creating it in the first place. Does Biden have a comparable direct responsibility for this anti police protest?
I certainly agree that somebody in authority should be actively addressing "kill all pigs" slogans. "**** 12" is less violent but in the context of kill all pigs should probably be included. Somebody in authority should be addressing this, explaining the importance of police, the fact the majority of them are hard working people doing good for the community and that their exists proper systems for addressing those who do the wrong thing and there is no place for mob violence in this. Is the President the appropriate person in authority to do this? Maybe, if this protest is big enough and I would like respect Biden more if he did but I'm not sure it's an apt comparison with a protest against a federal election at capitol hill which is much more clearly within the President's area of responsibility.
I do understand why people are pissed but thanks for explaining that further. I don't like the way politics are conducted, I think it should be less emotive and more intellectual but I think the system we have is about the best system that is possible with human nature being what it is but we should always strive to be better and I appreciate that is what you are trying to do here, even if we don't agree on everything. I commend your intellectual approach to this.

1. Is he morally responsible, things you can't measure like body language, general behavior, etc. I'd have a hard time arguing against you here, he's in some part responsible. That's who he is, he's flamboyant, doesn't have any censor, plays on emotions and uses theatrics.
2. Is he legally guilty, did he explicitly call for violence or falsifying information in an effort to remain president. From my current knowledge, I'd think no. We all know Trump relied (likely too much) on social media. At the time of all this, there were videos going around of people tossing ballots. Whether real or not, he didn't know at that time, nobody did. Investigations take time. It seems more likely to me that he called the Governor and said "find the votes" as a genuine "these bastards are clearly trying to keep me out and throwing away ballots of legitimate votes for me, go find them." that's what it seems like he was saying. If I'm correct, these charges and indictments seem like a slight manipulation of the law to pin somebody who might be morally guilty but not legally/technically guilty, which is of course, incredibly concerning if true. Granted, I'm no attorney. Both situations here (his behavior, and the prosecution) are concerning to me.

People had to sit there and witness 4 years of the most biased coverage you could imagine. While Trump has tons of flaws, they exaggerated and lied about them daily, as in not even subtly but bold faced lied about him year after year, riling up the crazies on the left, leading them to riot and destroy so much in nearly every city in the US. I think when people say the election was rigged, they mean that the public (or some percentage of it) was manipulated and fed propaganda for 4 years to get him out of office, and that's the part they're referring to with "fake" comments. On that note, I agree with "them" and it's a scary trend how powerful that anti-Trump fake propaganda was. Simultaneously you'll just have to trust that I don't support everything of Trump, by any stretch. I actually supported Hillary in '16. Funny enough, in some weird psychological twist, the amount of fake propaganda supported by power structures in the media made me find myself defending Trump a lot, in spite of them. I'd bet (ironically) that's how he has the support that he does.My opinion that Trump had a duty to say more to prevent Jan 6th turning into what it did comes from his actions in creating it in the first place.

I'm just trying to remind everyone this wasn't the white house, this was a big open public capitol building closed down for the event. The white house is a few blocks away.
