David Lee Roth left very quickly and people didn't really like his replacement (though he wasn't bad at all).

Sammy Van Halen was good but david Lee van Halen was at the top of the food chain for hard rock.
Dsvid Lee Roth made the band. I love Eddie too but kets be honest. You could have replaced eddie on album with Steve vai and the average listener never would have noticed
But replace the front man. Especially one like diamond dave and it's just niy the same
