I came to the states when i was 6 and went from 1st grade to two semesters of college all in English. when i came it wasn't like how it is now where a lot of the teachers were bilingual. none of my teachers growing up spoke spanish

Sounds like you need to get back into your roots and your culture. I know people in the same boat as you and you wouldn't even know they grew up here. They can distinguish the two very well and don't blur the lines and value both sides more so towards their heritage which is common with Latin/Hispanic communities. So basically you're white washed.
