One party system; Most Republicans are Democrats, but no Democrats are Republicans.

Getting them to pay taxes would be a dream ho lee fukk. I'd be STOKED if we just stopped giving them free money, like "the biggest fraud in history" ppp loans.

Reminder that the government will never give you a dime lol. And there's no money for homelessness, student debt, our failing power grids or other infrastructure, fixing healthcare, fixing education, fixing social security, community policing, etc. etc.

But when the MOGGERS put their hand out...

Only citizens living in DC are required by law to pay income tax. Know the law.

Of course they’re not doing anything illegal, nor did I suggest they are.

Points to you for trying though.
Most people with business licenses do this, rich or not. I legitimately spend like $15k/year on gas for my business and sometimes the gas I buy for my personal use accidentally gets lumped in on top of that. Just kidding though lol inb4irs

Thanks to Trump's tax code changes though I have no longer been able to write off generous portions of my home costs for "home office" purposes. Sucks it used to save me thousands every year.

It’s absolutely disgusting how much taxes the middle class in the USA pays and how little we get

I paid over 100k in taxes alone last year, and the one time I needed to call 911 I was on hold for about 10 minutes before a dispatcher was able to answer. If I get some kind of harsh sickness like cancer then I am done, lose my job and my ability to take care of myself and the gov isn’t going to help me. Potholes so big they can total your car. Public transit isn’t public funded, it’s completely funded ticket sales

I hate this country sometimes srs

I do all of these - it doesn't reduce your taxes as much as you think. Only the portion of your home used as an office sq footage counts (as a %). SEP-IRA/solo 401k contributions and legit business deductions reduce tax liability the most. You can't beat the IRS if you are just upper middle class making 300-500k/yr, you have to be legit wealthy.

The more you make, they less they take and the more you get. I had a boomer recently tell me this was fair because "anyone can be a billionaire and use loopholes."

Chief, in the US rich people have long term capital gains and dividend income.

Warren Buffett trolled the hell out of his assistant (made a fool out of her) years ago. He's on camera with her next to him and says "I don't think it's right my assistant pays more in taxes than me" She's got this look on her face, oblivious to the fact that she is all wage income and he has none.

One of the biggest scumbag moves of all time. I think we all know he pays more than her, it's just a lower rate.

Yea there's a lot of rules for thee and but not for me.

The problem is though...we can't change it. We have to follow the tax laws because if we don't we get FUKKED hard. So the best option I guess is to just try to play the game and navigate the tax laws as best as possible to try to get the same benefit out of it as the big boys.

This is such a big topic and gets even more complex when talking about the super super wealthy billionaires who are making massive contributions to the economy and society as a whole

I wouldn’t be surprised if people like Elon Musk actually talk about this stuff directly with the government and they’re like “ok breh, it’s time to throw some of that into taxable income” when various governments are huge contributors to Tesla’s success through tax incentives and such that then need to be recouped.

But the guys on that level aren’t even doing what many normies would hope to do with similar wealth, which is check out of the economy and retreat to some other type of lifestyle. The wealthiest people are very wealthy because they are very good at allocating capital and making it productive, and they work non stop despite being so wealthy. And the good ones give all their excess wealth back when they kick the bucket.

I mean... I'm self employed and there's always something you can do to reduce your tax burden...

Even wagies can dodge JUST A LITTLE by investing into an HSA/IRA/401K... But they usually would rather just buy a new car or phone, instead.

CLIFFS: Everyone has varying levels of opportunity, but they are retarded consumers.

That's because the higher ups don't want wagies learning the tricks of the trade. Wagies will always wage slave because they don't know any better. There is a reason they don't teach financial literacy in high school or college... schools are designed to train worker bees.
