the women of my grandmothers generation born in the 20s might have been peak civilization now that i think about it. i'm sure many will argue "oppressed" but whatever. wore a dress EVERY day of her life and never saw her undermine or even be snarky to my grandfather. cooked the best and for everyome, cleaned to spotless perfection...never even heard a cuss word other than a whisper of "shyt" a few times for added emphasis when she was really passionate about something while talking about family "news" to another woman. never anything vulgar on tv...never saw her hair not done...only saw her in her housecoat a few times. these women often had that air of civility and wouldn't dare break character. granted, my grandfather never broke from his christian gentleman role other than once in a blue moon when he would have to get on to her about something lol

The problem is that we don't know what will make us happy. Happiness is like horniness in that we have no control over what makes us feel that way.

Some people really want kids and then the kids make their life miserable. Others don't want them and when they have them discover it's the best thing to ever happen to them. Want them or don't want them; it's a gamble either way.

We have one of our own and are considering adopting one, so that she has a sibling. Having a second one of our own would be really pushing the envelope in terms of age.

I've spent more than enough time on a farm, my grandmother owns a farm and has cows, goats, pigs, chickens, guineas, turkeys, geese, horses, and sheep. It seems like my comment bothered you some. Maybe you want kids but no one will have them with you? Must be tough.

I don't have any kids yet but would like to have some, and I don't hate anyone who doesn't want them at all (although I do think it's weird). It would be nice if we could correct the current situation where lots of people who should be having kids are not, while lots of people who should not be having them are.

People are going to give you **** for whatever you want to do, regardless of what it is. The same can be said about people who DID have children. They have gotten a hundred "durr I wud NEVAR haf kids srs haha" when they talk about anything having to do with raising a child.

Eh, forget it. I edited the post, because you'll probably misunderstand what I even mean by "rape". The way ancient people used the term and current views of it are different. It's easy to interpret words through modern connotations. There's also an issue of how and which words are used to describe something. Feminism made it so the idea of rape could also mean consent vs non-consent. If a person says that they were raped, it doesn't necessarily mean anything bad happened to them other than they regret making the decision to sleep with someone, etc. But some will still call it rape, because they "took back" their consent, which is just bs.

If you ever look at r/childfree there's some wild stuff on there like girls getting themselves sterilized at 22 years old.
