Please play the game for 20 hours, that's when it starts getting good!

Chit, at least it's something we can finish. The AAA games all try to be time hogs. Not necessarily a bad thing, but damn, I like to sample the buffet and balance a family at the same time.

Watchign the DF review ... the comparison shots from the previous game to this is kinda mind blowing. Youtube videos dont really show it during the marketing, but it's a pretty significant improvement in terms of assets/level of detail. Very next gen

I hope there's a lot more variety to the cars / npcs though ... having the same models appear in quick succession or having copies walk side by side is the most immersion breaking thing. I remember in cyberpunk recently I had 4 copies of the same npc walk side by side and it immediately took me out out of the immersion.

In the spidey video, in one scene I noticed the same white van like 5-6 of them in traffic. Hopefully things like that are the exception.

Yeah boys I appreciate your recommendation to check out the DF video but I wanna go in as blind as I possibly could. I'll take your word that there's a significant improvement though because from the small previews and gifs it definitely looks like quite the step up to me. Now imagine actually playing it on your big screen. Damn.

I really hope the pro is a thing, imagine cranking out the resolution mode with full RT and 60fps.

Skill ups review mentioned that this game is full rtx even at 60fps (watch from 14.20).... "You cant turn off Raytracing in this game because Insomniac said there's no need to" Pretty sure they added similar modes to ratchet and clank too.

Insomniac are mental.

Sony paid just 230 million for the studio ... Easily the best studio under sony this gen and compared to any other studio this gen overall in terms of output + consistency.

I think insomniac is the best studio on this business

I also think it's a shame Sony has them pumping out Spiderman content instead of making new stuff.

Xbox let them go nuts and do whatever and we got sunset overdrive which was imo the best Xbox exclusive of that gen lol

They're making Wolverine.

inb4 another marvel game, but Wolverine has never been given a decent shot (except for that surprisingly decent Origins game) .... I trust Insomniac more than any other studio to do Wolverine right. They even said it's gonna be rated r.

Agree though, I'd like to see a new IP from them this gen.

Wolverine 2024
New IP 2026-2027
Spiderman 3 for 2028 to close out the gen
Wolverine 2 releases 2029-2030 as part of a cross gen PS5-PS6 title.

If any studio can do this, it's insomniac lol.

Wolverine will only be good if it's bloody, violent, and adult themed.

There was a huge difference between all the pg13 Wolverine movies and then the rated r Logan. Wolverine is just not a character who can avoid ultra violent bloody fights. Logan was the only movie where he really felt like comic Wolverine.

Spiderman = haha knocked the bad guy out and took him to jail time to go kiss Mary Jane and go to prom

Wolverine = cut his head off and covered in blood off now time to go drink beer

Idk my comic book bias comes into play too much for these games. Read way too many comics growing up so I get annoyed when characters aren't portrayed well. Wolverine is a prime example because it's hard to market ultra violence these days so, he often gets nerfed or a pg13 makeover.

That’s according to Giant Bomb reporter Jeff Grubb, who shared supposed details on the in-development project during a live stream on Thursday.

“Hard R is what they’re going for… that’s one of the concepts that I’ve heard,” Grubb said. “I think an M-rated Wolverine could work, I think an M-rated superhero game could work, and this is probably the right character.”

He later added: “They will [also] avoid having any links or anything that evokes the Fox movies – they want it to stand on its own. I was trying to nail down the setting and have heard it will start before he joins the X-Men, which also makes sense for a Wolverine game…

Hopefully they can make it super gnarly ... I wanna see Insomniacs take on that body injury system done in dead island 2.

Only thing just makes me wonder is how much of a say Disney has in regards to the violence since they're pretty kiddy focused phgts. Insomniac can definitely do horror / gore though because they did the resistance game .... Either way, I'm sure it'll will be the definitive Wolverine game regardless of the violence or lack of it.

Ever played X-Men Origins: Wolverine? He definitely cut dudes to shreds in that game.

Yeah wolverine needs to be rated M for it to work. That's what I'm hoping for. It's gotta be completely different from your Friendly neighbor Spiderman.

Damn @ that gif. It's disturbing to me how realistic I thought the original looked and then SM2 blows it out of the water.

Also, even though he's sitting at the exact same spot it's weirding me how the perspective in SM2 looks like you're much higher up and would be scarier to jump off. I don't know if it's because they added far more verticality in the background or the lighting but it's definitely tricking the eye.

In a game you simply enjoy playing it's hard to say "this moment" because it's not a CGI intensive QTE experience like Spider-dude, great moments keep happening all the time, and you look forward to what you might uncover as it's an exploration game. You might as well be watching a Marvel movie.

Wtf is this garbage post? Haven't seen you post your opinion on something you are so uninformed about since you said Xbox controllers have had adaptive triggers since the Xbox was released.
