Transgender used to be called cross dressing or wearing drag. It was a trend then, and there are truly about 1% of people who call themselves trans who are genuinely feeling like they are the wrong gender.

The other 99% it's because they want attention or an identity, and the community is highly welcoming even for unattractive people, so those with issues relating to others or can't form solid relationships flock to it. Think about all the alphabet crew who consider themselves victims if somebody says something even slightly wrong or politically incorrect. They have never formed the right attachment to self esteem when younger so they have to cling to a false identity when they are older and need constant attention, and negative attention is still attention.

As usual, it's the result of crappy parenting and not actually teaching your kid how to process emotions and deal with issues during puberty.

Even if you think it's a mental illness, not all mental illnesses have cures. Just let them cut off their wangs and piss in the ladies room jfc. And I don't give a single Fuk if some karen makes her son a she, fuk their whole family, zero impact on my life if they get hit by a bus either.

I've met a ton of awful people IRL, none of them happened to be transgender. There are definitely bigger problems to getmadabout.

Honest question - what makes you think the earth isn't flat? Have you looked into it?

Is this not the same type of psychological phenomenon? I can't be the only one that has noticed that they seem to have the exact same overall workings.

1.) I can find communities online for (transgenders/flat earthers) where they viciously defend their point of view with word salad that doesn't make any sense, while holding views that contradict direct observations.... but I almost never see such people walking around in the real world.

2.) Every human being on earth knew that these things were totally ridiculous ideas 20 years ago.

3.) It looks like in both movements, there are only a few really "special" people out there that believe it and take it seriously (actually believing the world is flat/actually chopping off their johnson) while the bulk of those involved are simply trolls that know it is a hoax, yet keep the hoax alive by pushing/repeating these ideas.

4.) They are arrogant, and believe that every other person in the world is wrong about things we've known for thousands of years. They think that they possess some new and great information that turns human understanding of the most basic things on its head.

I'll think of more later. But flat earth and transgender seem like very similar social phenomena.
