I still go back and read old ones.
You can get most stuff athttps://www.retromags.com/
I have every EGM, Nintendo Power, and Gamepro backed up locally. About 135GB lol.
Magazines did feel special before the internet.
I subbed to Nintendo Power and later Official Xbox Magazine, and regularly read EGM and occasionally Gamepro.
What I also really miss is demo discs.

It was quality over quantity made by people who didn't hate games. Most online games "journalists" couldn't cut it in any other writing field and are now stuck either summarizing the story another outlet covered or what seven people on twitter or reddit think. Quite a far cry from when the magazines had actualnewsfrom legitimate sources within the industry instead of "crapsmypants420" on reddit.

I talked my mom into getting me a subscription to PC Gamer and Gamepro more or less for the demo disc. Used to get EGM and Nintendo Power from time to time. Pretty sure that entire collection is in a box at my parents house somewhere.
Hands down Nintendo Power made the best layouts though.

Back in the days before you could download anything those demo discs were where it was at. I think that's why I like downloading so much chit off Gamepass/Plus Extra, closest thing to getting demo discs now a days.I talked my mom into getting me a subscription to PC Gamer and Gamepro more or less for the demo disc. dang this thread goes right in the feels. I subscribed to Nintendo Power, Playstation Magazine, XBOX Magazine, and Dreamcast Magazine.
Recently uncovered my Playstation Magazines too. I had a subscription until it ended in late 2012(along with Nintendo Power)
They were great for discovering new games and dem demos too

It had all sorts of official artwork of the characters, items, and enemies, just an awesome book. I'd kill for Nintendo to finally bring back the OoT/MM art style.

sad
I got this one

at least they still make strategy guides, not sure how long this will last though
(also they get outdated pretty fast as well with all the updates games are turning out after release nowadays)

Fuark...
Great thread OP, great thread. Serious. As in, just reading your OP alone kick started a boat load of nostalgia feels.
You know what, at my parents house I have a copy of an issue of the official Sega Saturn magazine from back in the day, and the reason I have a copy of this particular issue is that they published my letter in it, lol. When i visit home I will try to remember to scan it and upload it for the misc.
