MJ never woulda never let happen what ensued in the 2007 season to the Pats
Quite possibly the most disappointing team in the league's entire history
Nobody worried about the NBA when Bill Russell retired

Besides, this isn't about their accomplishments. For the last time, it's about the entertainment they brought to the league night in and night out.
Also to the guy hating on Dan Majerle do you actually think he's not every bit as good as Damian Lillard on the Bucks? Isn't that their 2nd best player? He most certainly is. And don't start comparing points scored either. PPG average is 20 points higher this season than during games in the mid 90s. The reality is they played defense in Jordan's era.
It also used to be much more of a team game too. Now NBA tries to run iso plays all the time. That's boring as f*ck. This is the type of stuff I'm talking about when I say the NBA isn't as high quality ever since MJ left. Yes MJ had plenty of iso moments as well, but he also played within a team system that so many people ignore too. They all did back then.
Let's face it you can go to any hood in America and watch some street ball and see similar style and quality to what the NBA has become today. That's the truth of it.
As for the NFL it's similar in the sense I can already see there are no more QB masterminds like Brady who could execute and control the game the way he could. Sure some of these guys have raw talent. Lamar Jackson has tons of it. But that strategic decision making and cut throat ability to take over a game is not there the same way.
These are sad times for both of these sports. You might be able to argue MLB went through it's downfall even earlier than either of these after it started persecuting it's juicers like Bonds and McGwire and Clemens. The reality is they elevated that sport to new heights. It wasn't one singular person with them the way it is for NFL and NBA though so I didn't put them in the thread but they still had a downfall after that era themselves so they are not immune from this. Now what we have in place is a bunch of rule changes happening every year trying to generate more excitement when we had the excitement and the league f*cked it up by vilifying the guys creating it.
NFL and NBA are admittedly I na tougher spot. At least they didn't shoot themselves in the foot the way MLB did creating the problem for themselves. Their issue simply stemmed from the greats of their sport getting old and retiring, taking the superior quality they produced on the field with them as they left and leaving us with an inferior product overall. There really wasn't anything they could do sadly.
But alas this is where were find ourselves. With sports across the board having peaked in quality factor now descending to something else. Obviously people are still going to watch. It's sports after all, and with the population growing it's not going to put a dent in revenue that golden age for each of these leagues has officially passed. Nothing lasts forever.

All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

I’m a huge Brady fan, but he’s passing the torch to Mahomes, Jackson, CMC and Purdy.
The Niners have a stacked team. I don’t think it’s been this exciting since the Montana/Young days!

All it takes is Mookie Betts, Steph Curry, and Joe Burrow all sitting in the same car in order for one drunk driver to make the world a significantly better place.

NBA is a low IQ sport.
Absolutely zero defense... every night you see teams scoring 130+. Low IQ fans will attribute that to increased athleticism... does athleticism not factor into defense, too? No loyalty or great rivalries anymore either. I prefer college ball. More teamwork, usually you get a solid group of guys who play together for at least a few years.
MJ would cook in this league, 40 a night easy.

They took away the handcheck and defense after Jordan's final season and the malice in the malice was the final straw for the NBA. They also are allowed to travel and gather step now to score more points. It's unwatchable now because it's more entertainment wwe style than it is an actual sport.

Not saying he was really the most mentally stable dude because obviously he wasn't but greatness is rarely what we would describe as a healthy normal. It's their abnormalities that allowed them to elevate above others. Now that doesn't mean all you weird mother f*ckers on the misc who are also abnormal is a good thing. The majority of abnormal people are weird failures in society. But every once in awhile it turns the opposite way into greatness and that was Jordan.

There's pros and cons to the game. This current NBA product could use a lot of work. But I blame Silver and the players equally for being a bunch of zoomer dipsticks who think they can ball. Players today are all offense. I like that kid J Dub though, he's got an oldschool basketball mentality and he'll be a superstar in a couple years time. Him and SGA should eventually win a ring for OKC

Also people keep saying "they just shoot 3's!!" when in reality drives to the rim are some of the highest it's been in decades. Players are either shooting a high percentage 3, or going to the rim for a layup/dunk

We all know what happened to the NBA after Jordan retired. They pathetically still cling to him and mention him as much as they can to this day comparing every new player to him as a weak attempt to keep interest in the sport.
We're probably now in the midst of seeing the same thing happen to the NFL.

The days of icons are gone. Messi and Ronaldo were probably the last greats.
Take Hamilton, Lebron and Mcdavid. They're probably better than Schumacher, Jordan and Gretzky but the latter were seen as gods among men.
There's an overabundance of talent and entertainment today that has desensitised people.
This is true not just for sports. Metallica, Queen, Predo Jackson - they literally had millions of people on their concerts. Who the fukk can do that nowadays?
