I'm going through a tough phase of the empty nest syndrome plus caring for aging parents.
I travel a lot and have an upcoming international trip, I sell stuff on eBay, I'm working to get back to tennis as that was always my social outlet so it's hard to have that cut off. Same with hip hop cardio classes. Those were great for my mental health but then my teacher left.
I want to get back into Bible Study.
I have been going to my adventure club events. That was a lifesaver during the teen years.
All of this requires energy. I am exhausted after work and it doesn't take much energy to type while I'm laying on the couch, but I know whenever I have a tennis match or event planned then I actually get off my booty.
I NEVER want to go to the event right before, or meet a friend for coffee, or do anything as I get apathy but once I'm actually there I love it! I'm always tempted to cancel but the adventure club charges you anyways so that forces me to go.

Older guys told me that there are a lot of married women on there who also are separated but living together but hoping to money branch so they can move in with a new guy since it's so expensive to live here.
In my mind I was single. I honestly thought that.

Why are you still doing blind weigh-ins so many years later? That's normally used in the beginning stages of a client's treatment. Most of the treatment centers out there advocate for open weighing. It's a necessary step towards the recovery process.

I had no idea about open weighing? I will look that up.
The problem with blind weights is that you can easily go up 10 lbs a year and not really be cognizant of that, whereas that National Weight Registry where people have kept off weight for 3-5 years states that most of the people weigh themselves once a week. That way if it creeps up they can adjust their eating and exercising.
Otherwise in my case I'd just wear leggings and sweats all winter and not really realize I'm gaining.

The study did show that blind weighing was helping in the early stages:
"verall, the majority of participants preferred blind weighing, particularly at the early, acute stage of treatment, whereas open weighing was viewed as more suitable at later stages of recovery. Quantitative analyses found current blind-weighed patients felt significantly less anxiety around being weighed and had greater tolerance of weight uncertainty than current open-weighed patients."
BUT you're right about open weighing in the later stages.
Blind weighing definitely gave me a ton of anxiety when I was pregnant as I remember my Doctor not being happy when I gained 7 lbs in a month. Then I became borderline gestational diabetic, so I really had anxiety and saw an ED Nutritonist.
EVERY ED Nutritionist wants you to eat a lot and she called me Dr. to stop harassing me about weight gain during pregnancy, but she also gave me tips on how to increase my protein like carrying boiled eggs and yogurt to work because when you're pregnant you're ALWAYS HUNGRY lol.
That actually helped because I didn't gain weight my last trimester. Overall I gained 42 lbs and lost it in a year.

I would look into open weighing, once a week, stay accountable blah, blah, blah. Less anxiety because you know exactly where you're at.

Yeah I can feel if there is fat rolling over the leggings in my back or not lol. I don't feel anything now, thankfully, with this recent weight loss.
Here's another article:https://www.louisvilleeatlab.com/blo...rder-treatment
What do purple elephants have to do with fear of weight gain? The same principle applies to seeing your weight. Our goal in eating disorder therapy is to help patients become less afraid of gaining weight, to realize that gaining weight is not catastrophic, and to put less over-evaluation on weight and shape. The only way that patients can learn that weight is really not as big of a deal is for them to regularly see their weight!!! Patients then learn that just because they have gained weight (or maybe they really haven’t even gained weight like they predicted they would!) the terrible things that they imagined would happen from gaining weight (or seeing their weight) do not happen.
After all, your weight is just a number – it does not define who you are as a person!

Took me 10 years to get to 185k rep power, and here you are at what, like 3 years?
Well played, you should teach a course in trolling.
But I wonder what is the value of all those reps compared to what you gave up for them.

Many of my reps are from when I posted in the Positivity thread and when I posted in the Music threads. Some white knights but I don't receive a lot of reps from my threads on the Misc.

I’ve taken a year of classes/groups and I’ve been seeing the DBT therapist for 6 years now. She really helped my relationship with my daughter, for me to stop being obsessed with men and to learn skills to manage work anxiety.
