I eat tasty and satisfying meals which fit my macro and calorie requirements.
There's no conflict between eating tasty and satiating meals and working on some fitness goal. Fitness does not necessitate eating bland-ass chicken and broccoli. You can have the best of both worlds, you just need to be creative and exacting.
My thread from the other day had some of my fitness meals which show you can eat tasty and healthy food.

Lol @ OP "mixture of rice and vegetables at least twice as much (or more) than the protein you consume." Twice as much or MORE than the protein you consume he says lmao. Wat???
OP protein, specifcally red meat/eggs/dairy are nutrient dense foods. You should be eating MORE of that, and LESS chitty fuking rice. Seriously like lmao @ thinking rice is 1 of the healthiest things you can eat. This guy gets more retarded as the days go. Same thing for veg. Most veg contains anti nutrient properties. Whilst some are good, your body will not absorb the nutrient content from a lot of them and thus turns into waste product.
I eat twice per day. My diet is red meat, chicken, eggs, dairy, non starch veg, approx 4 litres of water per day. I'll deviate from this when needed, like going for food with friends etc, but thats my general day to day diet.

I try to, and I just look at it like any other habit: with enough time it'll become second nature.
Just narrowed things down to what I believe are the "bare constituents" of eating healthy.

I'm at my best when eating every 2.5 hours and staying ahead of hunger.
another huge factor is doing my own cooking which minimizes seasoning, sauces, all that BS restaurants add. simple boring food consistently thru the day. if i'm carb heavy for something like dinner it's just because i'm going to wake up and hit the weights hard. make use of your carbs.
then have fun here and there and go out. have your fun meals but overall keep it simple especially mid week.

Seriously.
I've come to all of these conclusions based on how the foods make me feel, and how they come out the other end.
I can't say it would be exactly the same for everyone else but I also don't think it would be too different.
The only reason I say to eat meat is because I tried vegan for a while and it wasn't the same, especially considering that I lift and am fairly active.
A person might be able to eat what I consider "healthy" on an all plant diet, I personally believe people would still at a bare minimum require a couple servings of meat (or eggs) a week.

Today I had two breakfast burritos with scrambled eggs, one plain eggs with bacon bits, green onions and a little Lousiana hot sauce, the other was with eggs, chorizo and some diced potatoes.
About to get started on making some vegetable and rice soup.
Easy basic day and way for me to eat well over 2:1 veg to protein without much unnecessary stuff there.

I got the mirepoix going right now, waiting to add the little red potatoes.
Later will add broccoli, then a can of corn, then a zucchini and a squash.

Some pancakes aren't the end of the world especially if you're active.

I think eating foods in their most basic forms is healthy. Meat, fruits, veggies, grains, rice, oats, nuts...stuff like that. Easy to cut out processed food and sugar that way.
