I mean it's generally just a job for young people trying to support themselves for school and those with no skill or ambition...
Worked in Taco Bell, Chili's (BOH/FOH) and Steak and Ale (FOH) in HS and college; some truth to the OP because big tables are a huge PITA but be organized and hustle!

most of these min wage jobs are 10x harder than these weird idiots that get to work "remote" and watch porn all day
or sit and fart in their office chairs at some financial tower building. Make it make sense

I've worked in food service when I was younger and...yeah it fuking sucked.
That's part of why I got an education and a career...so I don't need to be an adult food tradie making a COPE thread like this (and serving tables in womens' work anyway) about how hard my completely unskilled job is and thinking it's some kind of flex.

Much respect to people who work in kitchens. I would definitely struggle because I stress cooking for other people and even mcdonalds customers will lose their bananas if you dont get their order right let alone a fine dining establishment

Are you fking kidding me? I was a waiter at multiple restaurants. Job is easy as fuk. The only people that say food service is hard are the ones that couldn't cut it in any other industry, which is why they work in food service (srs)

We just play league of legends and make gay jokes on discord all day. Most of us are doing like 5-10hrs a week of actual work.
Would be an awesome situation for a dad. But for me I probably just need to find a new job that actually makes me work and pays me even more money.

I'll stick to my cushy office job where I technically only have about 4 hours of work to do that I try to spread out over an 8 hour period.
Being at some job where you actually have to work the full 8 hours (aside from two 15min breaks and a 30min lunch) on top of having a constant "customer service smile" is basically slavery in my eyes. I don't know how you do it.

All these "skills" can easily be obtained through research. It takes character and resilience to be able to work on the food industry. That is something that CANNOT be taught.

I used to be a paramedic for the city and county here. Pretty sure they have it way worse than any food server, for really not that much more pay.

there's all kinds of levels of RN's. but on average, they have a lot more general medical knowledge than paramedics by far...
when I was a paramedic, many of us were actually trying to become RN's srs.
they got paid like double what we did.
