Realistically, Trump should be picking DeSantis for VP.

He needs DeSantis' voters to even have a chance. Problem for Trump here, is DeSantis is not a yes man, and that's what Trump requires.

No need for high heels Ron. Get Mike Flynn in there, no Vivek, no Ron, no Pence. Nikki Clinton will also never even get close to VP.

People close to the Trump campaign say neither Haley nor DeSantis are on Trump's VP short list at this time. Rather, the list includes Ohio GOP Sen. JD Vance and Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, both rising stars in the GOP and members of the party’s Trump-centric MAGA wing.
New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, coming off her takedown of top Ivy League college chiefs during a hearing over campus antisemitism, is also on the list, though considered "a long shot," one person close to the campaign told Fox Business.

Plus she ticks all the annoying political boxes.

Noem (aside from being fairly hot, which definitely counts at least subconsciously with a lot of people) may have a positive impact with women and help mitigate some Trump negatives there, although her record is very conservative and probably not going to be super appealing to a lot of independents (this shouldn't really matter much since an anti-abortion stance at the federal level is meaningless now that the SCOTUS has determined it to be a purely state-level issue). If independents vote based on Biden's record over this term and the increasingly obvious insanity of the Dems rather than feels, Trump should have a lot of them in the bag anyway though.kristi noem is the betting favorite

DeSantis is the author of his own downfall. He became gov bc of Trump, then got all cocky and went on the attack. He should have controlled himself and waited until 28, but he lacked patience and discipline. I don't see how he can recover from the past year, at least not during the next decade.
