Eh. Better than being drafted for a war at 18. This is the absolute best time to be alive as a person living in the west. I'm in the Caribbean and every time I go to the USA (which is often) I'm surprised at the safe, privileged life of convenience and opportunity so many of you have. Things are tougher where I'm at and as a result, people have much tougher skins. I think it's all relative, the problems you guys have are so miniscule that you gotta invent new things to be concerned about, things that are increasingly mundane.

It wasn't even AI the kid killed herself over, it was some old school amateur trolling. That kid was clearly not raised by parents to even remotely deal with any kind of hardship or difficulty. That's the deeper issue at play here.

That’s a part of the problem in itself. We have already been and are progressing rapidly more towards a point where you cannot possibly know what is real or not. Anything you can see or hear. This would be called schizophrenia back in the day, but it is our reality. There’s no waiting it out. The darkest aspects of our technological advancements are coming at us rapidly.

Like with anything in human life, it's not the thing itself, but the misuse by humans that's the problem. We can't just keep blanket banning things because there's a handful of pieces of human trash who use it improperly. We'd just be left standing in a field staring at the sky lol.

I think he's referring to how you deal with the situation. Good parents would probably teach their kid that some AI porn isn't something to off themselves over. That at 14 there's so much more to life to look forward to and it's not worth losing those potential decades of joy and fulfillment over.

I think both of these are true. It is still significantly better to be a kid now compared to times of the past or being born in less advanced countries. That said, kids don't know that. I think the bolded part is the biggest issue. I was teased before, but you left school and you were safe from it at least until the next day. Its hard to imagine how i would have handled it if it was coming at me 24/7 no matter where i am because of internet. And young girls are especially susceptible to social anxiety and not handling it well. I dont know, i just think in the past that temporary break when you got home and getting to process these issues allowed a kid to grow and become stronger. But now these kids that are on the side of being picked on, just feel constantly less than because of social media.

I just hope some parents will try and take a bigger role in helping their kids navigate those issues.

2). Even if this happened, you could easily explain and identify it as AI generated porn. My employer would recognize this immediately.
