In defense of OP:

2 major events took place this past weekend: Lunar New Year and the Super Bowl.

For those that don't know, Lunar New Year is a huge event in China where they shut down for an entire week to celebrate. It's also the largest mass migration of people because Chinese people will leave the cities and return to their home provinces to be with family.

And the Superbowl drew huge crowds because of Taylor Swift.

These two events could have attracted bad actors that wanted to stage some sort of attack or release a new strain of the China virus.
Everything I post is satire.
