Anytime I have a renter with a pet, I replace the carpet the day they move out and they always have scratch marks on the doors - that is what that fee is for.

Animals do damage over time.

I've always owned big dogs. Never had a problem with a pet fee. Even in a house now, there's **** I have to fix/clean that I wouldn't have to without dogs. That's life.

If I have two qualified people wanting to rent my theoretical house/apartment, and 1 has a pet, one does not, I'm choosing the one without every time if there's no pet fees.
