I had braces as a teen. Since then my bite has shifted a bit and have been considering them. However, I am leaning more towards old-fashioned braces instead. My parents sh!tty insurance took us to the sketchiest orthodontist around, and once he took off my braces they wouldn't cover anything after the initial retainer. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

You get used to everything you’re complaining about within a week or two.

I was happy with my results, but I was hoping I’d get more of an adjustment to my bite than what I got.

2 pro tips.

A- go on Amazon and order like a 5 pack of cheap retainer cases and just squirrel them away where you most commonly are. I’d keep one in my car, one in a jacket I used a lot, one in my gym bag etc. then I was never without a case.

B- don’t leave them out to get dried out with your plaque on it. Keep a cup next to your sink with 50/50 water and hydrogen peroxide. It would keep the retainers clean
thanks brah, I just picked some cases up along with the ortho key.

Pro tip - get an ultrasonic cleaner for your aligners and retainer because just water and cleaning tablets isn’t good enough. But DO NOT get a Zima Dental Pod for $100 because it is a rip off, low quality and breaks easily. They spend a lot on marketing on Instagram and TikTok but just mass produce them from China.

In fact they’re all from China so any ultrasonic cleaner under $50 from Amazon will do

This is a wireless USB-C one I got for $50 and it’s way better since it won’t take another power outlet if you have other USB-c devices and get a multiport charger. The only issue with this one was the UV lid cleaner battery doesn’t last very long but I don’t even use that since I doubt that UV led lights are strong enough to do anything.

That's doctor dependent. A good one will size them proportionate to your face and even make the color where it's not abnormally white. They only last I believe up to 10 years, so if you were to ever go that route, you'd be spending 100s of thousands of dollars until you're wearing dentures. They shave down your real teeth and somehow anchor the veneers on them, so there's no going back and it's a lifetime commitment unless you want to look like a freak. A good pair is no less than 60k. Imo you don’t to drop $50 on an ultrasonic cleaner. You only wear your set for 10-14 days. Buy the time they start turn a little yellow or whatever it’s time to change them anyways

You can get invisalign on a payment plan. It would be like $250 a month.

To each their own but every night I prefer to put on pristine clear aligners on like they're new. Putting on something that's turning yellow with residue in mouth seems gross

I got regular braces in high school, didn't wear the retainer at all and had to get invisalign when I was like 22. I've worn the retainer for a total of like twenty hours in the last six years and my teeth are still great somehow.

I still remember this guy spending ****ing 30k on them and thinking it was completely ridiculous.

He needed invisalign and whitening. The veneers make his teeth look too perfect, which make them look like dentures. The idea is to still have a natural look. It doesn't look natural.

Just goes to show most developments in life are just worse crap that gets marketed as a better product. I will say though I have known people with Invisalign where I didn't realize they had it. Braces on the other hand are fukking hideous on adults so theres that to consider.

this. Wasn't that bad. I never had anybody even notice I had them my entire year I wore them. lol And if you go out to eat with friends and don't want them in, then fk it don't wear them for a couple hours while you're out. It'll still work if you don't follow protocol 100%.

That said I was glad to get finished with it. But I recommend getting a permanent retainer on the bottom row of your teeth after so they don't shift again, and wear a night guard at night.

The first few days it does take some getting used to. But after awhile it's not bad. And it's worth it as you keep seeing the improvements week after week.

Welp, I gotta start asking two questions now - how's your relationship with your father, and have you used invisalign - when you're packing 6.5" girth it can get very painful

OP it gets easier and you won’t even notice they are in after awhile. I’m 10 weeks in and it’s not that big a deal. After 5 weeks if they are still bothering you at the level you are complaining, then you might want to consider carrying a using tampons at all times. Cheers mate and good luck with your teeth.

I had them for 18 months and cost around $4000.

The best thing that helped me out was using those little green chew things they give you.

It helps the teeth settle into the new place and the pain of the new retainer goes away faster.

I was doing it all day, felt like a piece of gum.

They do warn you that if you dont wear the nightly retainers after the treatment, they will go back to what they were in the beginning.
