She was the right person at the right time for the industry. That about sum up her popularity.

if it would not have been her it would have been another just like her.

She doesnt or cant write songs , can barely sing or perform. She is propped up by the industry.

Quick, name 2 songs she does. I dont know a single one.

She will be forgotten about once the next new shiny thing comes along.

Trier to rep, but on spread

I agree with everything you said here except for the knock on her longevity as a famous pop star. Taylor Swift has been pretty famous for nearly 20 years now, and she started getting ultra famous by like 2011.

She's not news herself. The only thing newsworthy about it is the fact that she manages to stay extremely popular even with young girls who are school aged (by far her primary demographic of sales is females ages 10 - 25 or so). The idea of a mid-30's pop woman who initially gained her fame 20 years prior still being insanely popular with that original teenie bopper fangirls crowd as they approach their 40's is pretty much unheard of. Normally, her fame would have already begun dropping off big time by now, with only washed up millennial women yearning for their youth still being fans.

It's a huge testament to just how far the industry has gone to prop her up
