Wait a bit. 2-3 weeks give or take and it'll be up in HD.

I read the first couple of books so it doesn't seem too foreign to me but people who are getting into the series from the movies alone are often totally lost, so i'll probably go to the theaters alone

I'm looking forward to it. I read the books years ago, but I haven't watched either of them yet. Almost 100% of my movie watching time is with my wife and kids and none of them are really interested in it. One of these days my wife will take off with the kids to visit her mother while I stay home to work, and I'll stream them on my projector.

Read the book a hundred times, liked the first part and will be seeing the second....at home. This version was made for people who already read the book. The earlier versions were made for people that didn't and tried to explain too much and was just stupid.

Definitely. If I can manage to go during a weekday at noon, then it'll be perfect. Going to the movie grill alone is the GOAT cinema experience.

Even if it isn't kids it's retarded adults sitting in seats that I bought.

They better not screw up the Guild Navigators like they did in the series from 20 years ago.

The one from the 84 movie was freaky. Vagina mouth monster.

In the books, they don't even show up until Dune Messiah, so there may not be one in this sequel.

Outside of some of the design choices I don't see much that Lynch did well with his Dune film, the exposition dumps were mind boggling dumb and talking about actors Kyle Machlacan looked 40 years old playing a 15 year old Paul Atreides. I love Kyle and Lynch for their work on Twin Peaks but Villenueve has easily cleared the 80s version in just pt 1.

I think the fact that he used an adult paul instead of a pre pubescent looking twink not to mention an actually hot chani made Lynchs film much better. Patrick Stewart was excellent. I don't care if it wasn't true to the books because the books are absolute garbage.

I enjoyed the world building and characters in the 80s version much more than I did pt1. It's hard to get into a film where you absolutely despise the main protagonist. In villenuvues version I want the harkonnans to win.

I also liked when the desert people looked like desert people, not jungle people.

Scene changed, dude riding away on a worm, end credits.
