LMAO, we were just visiting Haiti for the day. You can walk across the border. When you come back, the military waves you by if you are white. They could care less. Driving around rural DR, military check points all over. All they are looking for are people with super dark skin meaning they are Haitians.

My wife and I have been all over the world but Haiti was as rough as I ever want to see again.

My parents spend months at thier beach house way off the beaten path in the DR. They are there right now. Amazing place and some of the best kite surfing you will ever see.

Unfortunately most Caribbean islands are hell on earth. I traveled to St. Lucia and they were shutting down parts of cities due to gang violence.
