I guess the difference between us is that I wouldn't consider someone like sexy redd a musician, and you would.

I'm not saying you need formal training to be a musician, I'm saying there's skills that need to be learned, and a basis of musical knowledge that would qualify you as a musician.

Rappers do not have any of it. Some do, but you can make it as a rapper today with 0 musical knowledge or talent. You simply can't do that with any other musical medium, generally speaking.
