Neither the time, nor the place. Please show more respect and have some empathy. He also isn't an alt of Bodhy, if that matters.

Animals can be a good source of emotional support. I hate to give specific advice not knowing OP's particulars, but for many having a creature that can feel your emotional state and be there for you that can ease a burden.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Emotional support and being responsible for another living being will give you a sense of purpose and structure. Also more excuses to leave the house

Great advice. I thought alcohol would help but ended up crying hysterically.

Please don't. You or anyone else. You can not numb pain like that, drugs only make problems worse. In your case, this was a reaction to some horrible news, so I assume and hope a one-off, but just in general I've seen a lot of people thinking they can drink away their problems and just end up with many more until they hit rock bottom. That descent can start at any time for any of us, probably in times like this, so please be careful.

I would say you need to talk about it. Brommando has a great idea, celebrate her life. Smile about the good times and cherish those moments.

(her life, don't know why I assumed a guy)

I know this is coming from a good place but it upsets me more when people told me to celebrate her life.
