Most miscers have confirmed this time and time again. Shiit is busy as fuk everywhere during work hours. People are eating out and driving expensive ass cars.

Are they handing out free money somewhere? Sure as hell I would like to know.

Most people in the mid-upper classes were able to retire when the PPP grants went out. I was able to pull 350k with minimal effort while people with real small buisnesses and a savvy mind were squeezing out a cool $500k, throwing maybe 15k to the workforce and slowly selling out, shutting down after that.

This is like the whole world that is out though. Just go to a Wal Mart or gym or something and look. I don't think at least around 50-80% of people work now.

I've never in my life seen every place packed like it is now. Even during rush hours or around 5-7pm or whatever it was never close as busy as it is during normal work hours now.

Yeah cuz lots of people took the lump sum and figured they could stretch it out long enough to enjoy life as long as they live a very, very frugal lifestyle.

I thought about moving to a small town in texas where rent is like 700 for a house and people make like 25k/year average. But ive got a lot of years ahead of me lol. Not ready to check out just yet.

You're getting them rotated at the same time of the year everybody is switching out their winter tires and wondering why it's busy?

All of the tire places I know aren't even accepting walk ins, you book an appointment 2 weeks in advance.

hey!
not all of us have access to those types of resources you know.
If you just own a car you can get by with $100 in tools.

if you are one of those people that buys the biggest truck you can find then uses it as a car then you need more expensive tools but hey you dropped 70k for a truck you will never use as a truck, you can afford it.

Takes 10 mins to do it yourself with a cheapass Parkside impact gun and a 40 quid jack.

No I'm wondering whytf the place is packed at 9:30 AM on a Tuesday. Much different from a Saturday or Friday. As if people don't have jobs or something

Yeah what the fuk. Why is a ****ing tire shop so God damn busy like this at 10 AM on a Tuesday? I used to be able to take my car anywhere and they always had openings at 9 am to 12 pm or so, especially middle of the week.

Everyone needs to get a job or something, I dunno.
People don't work anymore, bro. (Both the customers there waiting in line at 10am on a Tuesday AND the place is likely very short-staffed for workers as well).

Also, with today's ridiculous used and new auto market–people who didn't do preventive things like tire rotations and oil changes before are now doing them because they need to make their vehicles last……..so lines/wait times longer.

I always make an appointment at the garage. You never know. Ain't nobody got time to wait around with a bunch of non-appointmentcels! Everyone sitting around the tiny waiting area with the 2 ripped chairs and the stink of rubber and grease and farts.

We used to have these things called *work friends* who would take you back to work after the car drop off and drive you at the end of the day to get it.
Wow, have times changed.

Have never seen evidence of that in my life, worked as a mechanic for years; the only time uneven tire wear matters is if it's AWD(you have to replace all 4 at once)

JFL I just went & checked the tread depth on one of my RWD vehicles & the front are 1.5mm taller despite all 4 being put on at the same time

Raising a vehicle from all 4 corners on lift arms at once is entirely different from using a jack on one corner

You place a jack under the k-member/rear differential housing/subframes; not the pinch welds, they can fold over like paper

I've seen instances where people did that & then their door wouldn't open or close anymore, the cabin is the frame on a unibody car

Every day people are streaming and get thousands of dollars thrown at them in a matter of minutes

Society has lost it's mind; Covid was the tipping point

I bet if I go out and drive right now it will be nearly bumper-2-bumper traffic

Lmao

It's so busy out during the day i don't even bother anymore. Even our trails are packed and i see pitbulls on them. I just don't get how everywhere is so busy now all the time. It used to just be Wal Mart that got truly busy for the most part and you could avoid it or work around the busy hours places had. It's bumper to bumper everywhere now. Long lines and waits too.
