There's nothing pretend here. I'm legitimate 100 percent, including when I make mistakes. Did I make mistakes? Yes. Should I be held accountable for them? Yes. That's what justice is.

The thing I take issue with, however...is that many of the people on this forum believe that once you do a certain thing or act a certain way that you BECOME synonymous with that that behavior. It is, in essence, a lifelong sense of ostracization from certain people who believe that there should be no mercy. THAT is the sentiment I am at odds against.

I'm bipolar. I feel things DEEPLY. Rage, love, all these emotions I experience 1000 times more powerful than the average person. I'm doing better at controlling myself, however this is something I will probably have to deal with for a long time.

I honestly don't have a problem with sending people to prison. Prison is a necessary deterrent for criminal behavior as well as getting dangerous people off the streets.
My problem is with making people have a record for their entire life even after a period of good behavior. Michigan does expunge now for most felonies but not for violent ones. It seems like you really are sentenced for life

That's the way it's looking across most of the country now. White people are no longer the majority.

The fact that you feel things DEEPLY then REQUIRES you to be exert more effort towards being patient with how the world may view you. You made very poor choices in your life, perhaps due to some psychological issues, however people don't have time to make special considerations for you.

It's up to you to weather the storm of opinion and remain true and steadfast towards bettering yourself WITHOUT giving in to emotion or becoming angry at people for their natural reactions to your past. In order to succeed you have to be more than average because your past deeds were also well above average in terms of negative resonating consequences.
Yeah I agree. But even in this thread for example I'm honestly learning to just let it roll over me...there's no point in trying to prove anyone wrong..or right...the best response in the case of negative initial reactions is to just smile and be kind. And I know that deep down now. I really do.
It's like an archetype that I over identify with at times is the warrior archetype and it can sometimes possess me. But I need to realize that the battle isn't OUT there...the battle is inside me. And again, i know that. The hard thing is to execute.

Yeah that's very true. Good advice. I do need to work on consistency.
