Really don't care what it ruins for you. Though I must admit, its satisfying watching dumbcels get left behind

Neurolink is a convenient stop gap for this problem.
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

I email an incompetent person, get incompetent responses, then they magically turn competent, detailed with proper sentence structure via AI. Pretty lulzy.

I guess it's indirectly making my job easier.

To be fair, we’ve been telling one another how to think for a lot longer.

Eh sort of. Thinking to me encompasses a broad class of heuristic algorithms that have a kind of self referential behavior. The self reference is key to thought. We seem to be genetically programmed with these algorithms hard wired in. The ability to discern shapes, holes, and distinguish between fuzzy edges of things, etc is actually really sophisticated, as I am sure you are well aware. No homo.

Yeah, I figure he is talking about this:

“AI can exhibit 'emergent behaviors,' or produce results that weren't explicitly programmed”

And at this point there’s limits to that based on programming.

Emergent behavior like that seen in cellular automata is still fundamentally programmed though. The way we think is like having something like that, but able to feedback on itself and refer back to itself. The self awareness and consciousness is the missing thing. I suspect we could eventually build something like this, but we would need to better understand neuroscience. It's still unclear how memory is encoded, consciousness functions, etc. Before we build true intelligence, we likely first need to understand our own.

UNLESS an AI produces it by accident itself LOL. Then we fuked bros.

a female sex robot would be fine for men though. they just want pure pleasure. women need the validation and AI will not give it to them
men want a sexbot and women want a chatbot and financial advisor

why would AI care, it has no self importance

it will follow or choose its own predefined goal
