No that's what I was asking - what is the alternative to 9-5? If it is starting your own business...well yeah that sounds worse to me than working 9-5. I don't know anyone that runs their own business successfully that doesn't work very hard to make it successful and while I can appreciate all those things, I don't want to work hard.

I don't have misery in the 9-5 - I can accept that I need to work to live, and I found positions that I can do with minimal effort but still challenging enough to keep me from getting bored.

If you're comparing a 9-5 where someone is putting a lot of effort into trying to advance their career and move up the corporate ladder, than yea - working for yourself is preferable

I am asking another relevant question: "What?" What is this so called research? This is the problem with pseudoscience. At the end of the day, it isn't enough to just attack existing theories. You need to provide an alternative yourself.
