On trt and just keep my levels at the top end of the range, so it’s not like that couldn’t be done by someone not on trt. Have never ran any other compounds or ever even done a blast. Keep working and you could be there soon (relatively speaking depending on where you are now and how hard you work). Realistically though I don’t think you would want to hit a workout like that 5 times/week as a natty and even if you could it probably wouldn’t be optimal. Depending on age obviously, because someone in early-mid 20’s probably could do it with no problems but I imagine that would change the older you get.

Before trt I basically had a bro split where I hit GVT on heavy days (so 10 sets of 10 on bench would be my entire chest day) then would have light days in between where I would hit biceps or abs. And honestly I’ve done lots of different splits, that’s just one examples of one of my favorites. The main thing is to keep it enjoyable. It’s important to keep goals in mind but don’t get so focused on them that you don’t enjoy the journey. Goals are good and awesome to hit, but the journey is the fun part.

When you are young, it's true.

At my age, I have to keep it under 1 hour.

Especially when I feel "I can do more" and "I want to do more" I have to be cautious.

Still I spent half of a year to recover from some kind of injuries.

45 mins is ideal for lets say a day of triceps/chest twice a week. I.e flat bench, incline bench, then skullcrushers. 3 sets of 8 with 5 min breaks in between. Twice a week.

Been doing all types of different routines and 6 day 45 min workouts are where it's at.

Do you just do PPLx2 or run a bro split??

Also, for anyone still reading at this point…this was an aware thread. No hate on whatever routine someone prefers.

Done. 45 minutes
This.

Used to workout 6 days a week, some sessions up to 2 hours

Being old now (34), down to 4 days/week and sessions closer to 45 minutes. Squatting 4 plates, almost benching 3 and my progress towards/beyond those has increased after decreasing overall time in the gym. Basically just do major barbell exercise (bench, squat, DL, OHP) and a few accessories. Have come to realize that accessory/isolation exercises are useful but not nearly as important as I've thought before. I'd argue if you go all out on your big exercise, you shouldn't have that much left in the tank to do like 6 more exercises. I will do like 6 sets on bench with heavy weight, and after that one iso for chest/tri/maybe light lateral raises and abs and I'm out.

If you can't do 12 sets of 8 reps at 80% in under an hour you're a fukkin joke son.

If your workout is only 12 sets you’re a fukkin joke son.

Current back and bis day:

T bar rows - 4 sets (1 warmup and 3 true)

Dumbbell preacher curls - 4 sets (1 warmup and 3 true)

Wide grip pull-ups - 3 sets of 10

Hammer curls (rope) - 4 sets

Face pulls - 3 sets

Back extensions (machine) - 3 sets

Lat pulldowns (1 arm) - 3 sets

Incline dumbbell curls - 3 sets

Shrugs - 3 sets

Reverse flyes - 3 sets

If anyone here is hitting that in less than an hour and 20 minutes(likely much longer) then they aren’t coming close to resting enough to make each rep count. Not even that stupid **** Gaysoos Christy.

F that.

I do 3 days on, 1 day off. 1st and 2nd days are 25 minutes. 3rd day is longer because I do more workouts (combine leg day with shoulders and abs) so it might be more like 45 minutes.

I make up for it by doing this though: Every day, rest day or not, before I sleep I do 3x10 pushups, 3x5 35lbs bicep curls, 3x15 crunches. Usually takes between 10-15 minutes each day, depending on how slow I am.

Don't wanna live in the gym at all. I know some people who spend 2-3 hours 5 days a week in there. Such a time sink IMO. Unless you're a bodybuilder, or athleticism is involved in your career somehow, phark that.
