I think you underestimate how addicted gamers are. They're literally playing the same games with just different players for decades, year after year.

Gamers pay a subscription to play online and willingly pay the same price for digital versions of games instead of physical so they can save a few seconds changing discs.

They'll complain online but buy it anyways.
