Got a friend’s wedding coming up next month so I decided to say fuk it and wear a seersucker suit. Wife decided this was a great idea and ordered a seersucker dress to match.

I found one for $50 on sale from Jos A Bank and had it delivered to a local store. Went last night and it was too small so the guy went and found my size. Turns out the one I ordered was last year’s style or something and the one he found in my size was like $400. Didn’t realize this until after he had fitted me and marked it up for tailoring.

I was like no thx Jeff and then they managed to find another one that was $300 and tried to tell me “this is agreatdeal, you’re saving $100 off the first suit!”

I was like “uhh thefirstone was 50 bucks.” They kept trying to get me to apply the $50 I paid to the first one and “save even more” on the more expensive one but in the end I just returned it and said I’ll look around. Ordered one from J Crew today so hopefully that works out, but I’m a little worried about how slim all the J Crew stuff fits.

I’m starting to think it’s a little much for us both to wear seersucker though. Kind of thinking I should have gone with something like this sport coat to compliment my wife’s dress rather than match it completely:

Yea i think the double seersucker will be too matchy. The salmon jacket looks nice, just get it tailored and you will be good to go. Tailoring makes all the difference with suits. that $99 will work well.

Going to the Preakness Stakes with my girlfriend in a few weeks for her bday. Looking at outfits now. I usually like to wear the most in your face colors as possible. Last year I went to the Belmont Stakes and went with a watermelon-ish pink shirt over aqua green pants.

This year, my girlfriend wanted me to get a lavender/white gingham shirt, which I guess I could pair with white pants, which I already have.

Not sure though, I usually like to go color over color.

You’re gonna wear white pants to the Preakness? I imagine you’ll be getting pretty yucky with the boys (and gf), just try not to get the pants filthy. Maybe skip the running of the portapotties

Hah, wasn't gonna participate in that, but I thought that could be ballsy.

To be fair, we do have actual seats in the clubhouse area of the grandstands, but we will be venturing into the infield at least once. My girlfriend LOVES Post Malone and he's performing this year. I am imagining that is precisely when I'd regret the white pants.

You ever been? Would love any tips if so.

Been to the Belmont Stakes the past 8 years, but this year I have a wedding that day, so Preakness it is instead.

Also, off topic question, but I don't post here at all anymore and would rather ask my S&P friends than venture elsewhere....

Anyone ever use the Bowflex adjustable dumbbells? Thinking of getting them for a home gym when I move in August. The ones that go up to 90lbs are expensive, but it's so tempting to save space.

Ayyy men, going to a wedding in the summer and wanted your take on wearing white pants with a blue blazer. I'm aware of only the bride can wear white rule, but can guys wear white pants or nah? The wedding is in southern France, the colors for the wedding are peach/pink/orange, and the invite states "semi-formal"
