so apparently because unemployment rate figures were missed, it's less indicative of incoming inflation. so thats why tech stocks are up

If the job numbers were inline to analyst prediction yields would have spiked up and all tech would be going off cliff (QQQ etc)
So which is it.
This just shows you where institutions are going to park money when x and y happens.
Everyone would be going oh phuck rip roku / tsla etc
I agree with you these unemployment checks have to stop they are going to kill dollar and inflation / commodity price will go through the roof over summer.

Unemployment data is in. Hopefully we see a bit of green for growth stocks today and it stays during the afternoon/after hours.
https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/...mlH5yH6cur5uHJ
"Adam Aron and AMC will also each make a $50,000 donation to r/WallStreetBets’ ape conservation charity campaign"
This is genius on his part, chump change for them with their billion+ but shows support of the "little guy", they are not selling and neither am I. AMC is looking like it's about to squeeze very soon.
On the earnings miss, which was expected, the stock didn't move and then went up.
I feel I don't really have anything to lose buying AMC at $9. It's worth that IMO if it goes to $5, i'll hold or take a loss. People are focusing on GME but not watching AMC.

Gonna shill for my friend's startup here.
She has founded a company that produces high-nutrition oat milk which has as much protein as dairy and far more sustainable than almond milk. Product has been developed though the formula is still being tinkered with a bit, and they're doing a crowdfunding round of SAFEs through Republic to move on to the next phase. Great candidate for a takeover in a couple of years, and the SAFE converts at a 20% discount to the liquidity event price. You don't need to be accredited to invest.
Great management team - my friend is an incredibly smart, former Big 3 consultant and finishing up an MBA at Yale.
I won't post the link because I'm sure that's against the rules, but if anyone is interested, PM me.

I hate this market. Did you know that I was telling everyone that the market would make ATHs within an year and to take out loans and buy stocks during the March crash? I, myself had hundreds of QQQ, DIA, SPY, and other calls at the time. I sold out in April thinking we'd retest the lows since the lockdown economic effects would become apparent, but instead chit just went ballistic to the upside. Had I done nothing, I would be up eight figures.
Now we have Doge coins making people millionaires while I and my twelve years of trading experience just get left in the dirt scrambling to not lose any more money. Any other time in my history of the markets, this morning's news should have destroyed the indices. Instead they soar off to fresh ATHs. I don't understand anything anymore, and it's sad because I used to do really well up until the past year.

while RKT made billions missed eps by 0.01 cent and is going to shiiter[/QUOTE]unreal. I just don't get it. RKT has their investors meeting 5/25, so hopefully they will do something significant. They need to either issue recurring dividends, have Dan Gilbert sell a significant amount of shares to increase float, or just go fukking private.
FWIW I've been thinking about how they will fair as the market shifts. Knee jerk reaction is once rates go up, they will suffer. But there is more to it than that and its actually more positive, two of the biggest:
1 - once all the forbearances are lifted, and if we see supply return to the market, there will be that many more opportunities for loan originations
2 - there is a psychological aspect to pricing, and if we see rates increase, and supply increase, prices will go down. This will attract more people than ever, even if the payment is still the same vs higher price combined with lower rates. It's the price tag that will be appealing to people
That said, RKT management really needs to be more involved with the market. They can't just say price movement is just noise and they don't pay attention. You have millions of investors that rely on that noise. You can't take a company public if you don't give a chit ABOUT the public...

One thing that doesn't make sense since this morning bad news, RKT should be going up if interest rates are going no where now. People will still go out and refinance homes even more now.

I just don't see real estate stocks as appealing right now, hedgies shorting the **** out of them because that's another bubble that's going to pop.
My EXPI holdings feel this pain..
It's unique to the current times so hard to predict exactly, but many similarities to 2007(comes down to greed). All you can do is make sure you're ready as possible, and make money when little opportunities arise. Gambling big right now is not something I can handle and I know that.(except AMC, bitch is going to mars huehuehue)
There's a reason Gates, Bezos, Buffet, Michael Burry, Dalio, and so many others have liquidated so many positions and concentrated into a few and cash. Short the chit out of everything and buy when the market tanks.

Oh well, no one could predict that the fed / exec gov would decide to totally disregard the future, print money, and fire bazooka after bazooka in monetary policy to keep the ship from sinking. I'm sitting on even more cash now but just hoping that at some point and time reality will set in and being disciplined and rational will pay off. If Berkshire is sitting on a bunch of cash waiting, guess we aren't totally idiots.

Any significant correction I will be buying hardcore, whenver that may be.
I know its likely hedging but go look at SPY / QQQ puts OI September 16th.
I just wonder if this phucked situation can keep going, on one hand all materials anything copper/ palladium / grains / lumber etc etc is out of control.
Other hand job recovery is not as good market was pricing.
So how long can fed just keep buying bond/assets without causing bond market to go to hell.
Imagine the unwind once they have to raise rates.

If I would have invested even half of the cash I was sitting on I would have a very different outlook on life/retirement right now. At least I bought a house during that time as well.
