Episode from today. Still haven't gotten far into it , but seems related to this thread. Practising gratitude can benefit the immune system and health (if true.)

I'm grateful for...

The people that continually post in these threads. I don't recall exactly but I'm certain they've been going for 10+ years. Juicetn was the OP, so long live his threads

A great day of great food with family/friends on Thanksgiving.

Upcoming trips with friends I hardly get to see because of distance/family commitments.

The opportunity to scratch a project itch I've been having. Ordered a couple small subs and amp, to build out a system in the truck. Might have bit off a bit more than I can chew (have factory amp I'm trying to keep) but I'll enjoy the build.

I'm struggling to get back into shape but I know I'll get there. Cardio and dropping some weight will be accomplished.

2) my son. He is good looking. He learns Chinese, math and writing. He tries his best to keep good grade.

3) my dog. I have to find someone to give him away due to frequent traveling. But I find someone to watch him this Christmas. My friend will stay at my house during Christmas.

4) a lot of reading. Read and is reading and listening to 10 books in short 3 weeks.

Parents still alive
Although dad (almost 88) is gradually losing memory and speech getting somewhat slurry, he is getting great care at his home and still remembers how to call me.
Mom at 83 still being 100% clear in the head, but ofc has some physical ailments

Soak up that time. I just lost my dad and grandmother in the last four weeks. Didn't have much of a relationship with my dad, but my grandmother was my rock - that hit really hard.

I'm grateful for....

The time I had with her. She had dementia the last six years so we obviously weren't close, but I'll never forget the memories we made prior.

To have had a grandmother and grandfather that stepped in where their son didn't.

Constant little reminders of them. Pictures. Trinkets. Memories.

Getting closer with one of my brothers. We had the same relationship with my dad, so when he passed its brought us closer together. We were never at odds, just didn't attempt to be close.

A supportive wife to help keep my chin up in the trying times.

- It was great to see my manager back in the office after a personal trip, safe and able to assist with questions.

- Feeling more mentally stable today. Perhaps it's from the extra sleep, or yesterday's workout.

- My kitty sleeping on my legs to stay warm

It's been years since I posted here, so picking 3 things out of all of that time:

Grateful for.....

-> Being able to confront my father (after decades without contact) before he died.

-> Meeting the lovely woman who I am now married to.

-> My long troubled sister finally meeting someone calm and stable enough to live with her anxiety, and she now has a wonderful child (my one and only nephew).

* Got a nice bmw after not having a car for 9 years (don't really need one living downtown).
* Being financially stable/still having a job in tech with all the massive layoffs the past 2 years.
* Good health.

I'm grateful for...

My sons and their drive to be better at whatever they do.

My amazing wife that puts up with my grumpy ass.

That work is only really 4ish hours of real work each day.

A solid Chinese restaurant at the front of my neighborhood. Kung pao ftw

That there are still people posting in this thread randomly.

-Getting back into skateboarding @ 40+ years old, lol. Itโ€™s a fun hobby. Teaching myself how to stay focused on something and applying myself too which is hard for me with ADD sometimes.
- Blessed by God even when I feel I donโ€™t deserve to be. I make many mistakes but Iโ€™m happy to know how forgiving my heavenly father is and I appreciate that he knows how hard I try to change my sinful tendencies and continually put on โ€œthe new personalityโ€ as the scriptures say.
- Being content with just having enough money to get by and pay my bills, not having the love of money as many others do, enslaved to always wanting more.

1. Dogs.

2. Good health (having just recently recovered from some weird illness that caused violent coughing)

3. A constant supply of newly releasing good books to read on my favourite topics.

Hell, give me a cabin in the woods along with 1. and 3. and I'd be set for life.
Back off, Warchild.

Seriously.
