UK Crypto Trader Forced to Hand Over Bitcoin at Gunpoint

A British man who runs a cryptocurrency trading firm was yesterday forced at gunpoint to hand over an unknown quantity of bitcoin.

The incident, which reportedly took place in the village of Moulsford in South Oxfordshire, is said to be the first bitcoin heist in the country. It was reported to the local police on Monday morning, a Telegraph report states.

According to a police spokesperson:

"Thames Valley Police is investigating an aggravated burglary which occurred at a property in Moulsford on Monday. No one was seriously injured during the incident. ... No arrests have been made at this stage."

The report describes how four robbers forcefully entered the residence and tied up a woman, while demanding that the trader, named as Danny Aston, transfer bitcoin at gunpoint.

Aston's cryptocurrency trading firm was established in June 2017, as Aston Digital Currencies Ltd.

This is not the first case of armed robbery involving bitcoin.

A similar incident was reported in Ottawa, Canada, on 23rd Jan. In that crime, three armed men gained control over employees of a bitcoin financial institution before fleeing empty-handed, as previously reported by CoinDesk.

One suspect has been charged by the local police following bitcoin heist and two more of the accused robbers are being sought. The charges include robbery with a firearm and forcible confinement.

agree coss is a moon mission, by why a ****coin? they already have a working exchange and 50% divident share for exchange profits, similar to kucoin shares and binance coin. Right now exchange is still in infancy with low volume... Apparently FIAT trading and new exchange engine coming in march. (confirmed via their twitter)

Why sell ZCL? They officially announced fork snapshot 2/28. It will go up to $300-400 before fork as people are FOMO'ing in my opinion.. unless you know something i don't please share

It's def not 100% but you can't expect it to be.. This is where I failed on ETH. I expected a bleed but forgot to take into account how beloved it is a coin and also how it lags but seems to follow BTC very closely. Even though there are long term charts that have this thing correcting to 700ish (not mine).. I still want to take in FA and say that a big correction like that may be a lot less likely even though the lines work out.


I'm just here to spread what I believe his the "house bet".. and if that works 4 of 5 times, that EV will be exponential throughout the year. This is why I won't buy WTC right now, but don't pretend or act like it can't still continue to moon.

I reckon ICX will be bigger than NEO by years end. Look at how long it has taken neo to get where it is. It doesnt have the backing of big business like icx, prob more apps launching on icx in an upcoming announcment. Already icx has huge partnerships and it is being touted as the blockchain of korea, the most crypto fiendish country in the world. Oh and the govt is more crypto friendly despite all the recent fud.
