I suspect Block;s Dev are realllllly slow and maybe incompetent. How many years does it take?????
I dunno about incompetent, there was recently an exploit found related to some forked PIVX code, and they cleared that up within a few weeks as well as locking almost all the exploited funds. Was pretty swiftly handled, the hackers got pretty rekt. They've stayed on target all year with their roadmap so far too.

You have to remember, these guys are 'inventing the wheel', so to speak. This stuff hasn't been done in practice before. Many different projects who claim to be running decentralised solutions have an element of centralisation.

Plus, these guys are aiming not just to have a DEX, but to have a system of blockchain interoperability. Eventually making it so that their protocol can be used to link any kind of blockchain to another. They want the end product to be an organic system that is developed and managed by sub-communities of devs and users in future. They already have a blockchain governance model for community voting (via the Blockchain), which allows community funds to be allocated by node operator consensus (development and such can be guided by the community).

Nobody really looks at them though, because of the lack of shilling. Even less people know about their plans beyond this DEX. Even some weeks/months ago, Komodo and Charlie Lee claimed they made the first atomic coin swap. Blocknet did this about 6 months before that, and already supported atomic swaps on over 20 coins at that time. Just hardly anyone knew about this... again, because they purposefully avoid shilling their unfinished product beyond feature reveals and updates with actual substance.

They have the atomic swaps, they already have a working fully decentralised exchange for months now. Soon comes this UI, and SPV wallet support, and that is when the first true coin DEX will be released. Beyond that, even more insane ****.

There's a lot of vaporware and projects built on hype, but this isn't one of them. But because of their tactic of "don't market an unfinished product too hard", there pump hasn't truly arrived yet. It's not the best coin if you're only looking for a quick flip. It's probably my comfiest long-term hold, REQ being 2nd. 2018-2020 is my currently intended 'partial cash-out' targets for my long-term stuff, like those two.

Sorry for the wall of text, but, i find this project really interesting and promising. I wouldn't hold it so long if i didn't believe in it as a real product.

I think this is most peoples sentiment. It's definitely mine and others I know. I don't need BTC to have fast transactions, I need it to be scarce and to hold my value long term. Right now I don't need BCH for cash, maybe one day it will be but not yet, but I do like BTC for stored value which is why I believe this is just temporary fud and BTC will climb again soon.

I think most people who first get into crypto lose money. Think about why the majority of people get in. They see huge gains, and want to hop on the train. These rallies are usually followed by corrections. Most people don't want to buy their first piece of bitcoin when it's tanking.

It's been brewing for weeks. I've also read it's deliberate manipulation to force S2X coin to tank off the bat so it fails. That wouldn't be a bad thing but then Bcash would see a big correction too.

Yes, the key word you are missing is CONTENTIOUS fork.

Forking is natural as the technology iterates, it just needs to be planned, wanted, and unanimous.

Do we actually need BTC to improve scalability?

Other coins do it better right off the bat, BTC can be digital gold without scaling to buy your pumpkin spice latte

EDIT: apparently ELASTOS (blockchain based OS using the internet) is working with NEO, trying to wrap my head around stuff but the goal looks to be to make blockchain safe from malware and keyloggers ETC

I.E SAFE FOR THE LAY MAN TO TRANSACT WITH CRYPTOS AND STILL WATCH PORN AND DOWNLOAD DODGY SOFTWARE ON HIS PC

you have people that dont want to fuk with it:; the immutability, code is law type

thats why they fork

segwit2x was supposed to tidy up the blockchain + increase blocksize

segwit1x was just tidying it up

IF btc was having those issues then it sounded like b2x was the solution. however. since its larger blocksize businesses were more interested in it, which as jamalfudge has said gave way to "centralization" sort of

anyways, i would doubt it due to peoples penchant for "immutability"

Yes, but there would be a new currency that isn't BTC right? And I guess that would just take the value and BTC would fall. That's what BCH advocates are saying is/will happen.

Totally agree with this, people haven't thrown this much money into bitcoin because they want to pay for their groceries with it, they do it for speculation and as a store of value imo. As you say, let the other alts that actually scale well take care of the rest..

So BTC is crashing, BCH is mooning.

Various posts and articles on crypto FBI groups are saying that BTC is basically going to die out and shut down within weeks and BCH will take the lead as the Bitcoin going forward.

Has anyone else seen that posted?

My WTC gains from the other day are being eaten alive by BTC bleeding.

All of this FUD is making me uneasy being that I'll be gone for 10 days and in that time my portfolio could essentially lose half or more of its value with so much tied into BTC.

Wat do?

The problem is alts are tied to BTC thru the sell orders. As BTC loses value....these sell orders get bought with cheaper BTC causing a domino spider web effect bringing down any coin traded with BTC unless its a small cap one.
