What kind of barrel? In terms of the shoot, clean, shoot, cleans crap. Don’t. Not needed. But barrels do tend to speed up after a hundred rounds or so. So some people like to let their barrel “break in” before working up a load.

Kidding aside, I ran a couple of wet patches to get carbon out after the first 20 rounds. Will not touch again until I see accuracy issues.

Good question. How long is a 308 bcg? The 2l basket is 7” long. They make a 7l one too.

I heard that the harbor freight cleaners are good too.

i have a question that came up when i was last at the range.

we all know that one of the 4 rules of gun ownership/usage is know the target and what's behind it.

While at the pistol range i was using the 7 yard target stands and behind the target is a long stretch of land before the berm about another 30'ish yards. The particular paper target i had, had 5 different targets on it like the face of dice.

I'm 6'4 - this target is 7 feet away and sits as tall as a little below chest height. Aiming at anything other than the higher 2 targets on that paper will put rounds through the paper and into the ground which is a mix of dirt/gravel.

What would you do?

haven't been to an indoor range in forever, but I imagine my height combined with the targets, there's potential for rounds to hit the floor at the far end of the range, before the backstop, if i go to those lower bullseyes

Use a taller target if you're shooting that close.

absolutely, but only issue is they dont have any taller stands, not even sure if you can move those. I would imagine my only option is to just only use the upper portion of targets

Gonna shoot my Shadow 2 in a pistol class in a couple weeks. Not sure if my angus is peppered to shoot a 46 ounce (unloaded) gun for an 8 hour class but I guess I’ll find out. In the past I shot either Glocks or P-09.

I probably watch Happy People once a month, definitely at least 1 Werner Herzog doc a month.

https://youtu.be/mnTU_hJoByA

I watched "Encounters at the End of the World" sometime after moving to the west coast. Top level thinking reasons were climate, pay, a girl. After seeing the penguin scene it made we wonder if there's some sub level logic that makes a small percentage of animals branch away from colonies for survival purposes (in the case that a whole colony would be wiped out).

Currently watching Mindhunter. It's a slow burn and there's a lot of scenes with just 2 guys sipping out of paper cups and talking but it's based of real murderers and I can't turn away.

Ozark is good but they take an obvious shot at gun purchasing at one point. Can't really say it without spoilers, but the gun shops I've been to don't usually say "Are you sure about that answer?" on a 4473. I still finished the season tho....

One time I put an ever so slightly different address on the 4473 than my license, as in, I put a different apartment number because I had recently moved to a different unit in the same complex, wouldn't sell me the gun until I went to the DMV and changed the address on my license to match what I had put on that first 4473.
