Thoughts on the institutions selling recently? Does it change your opinion?

What do you anticipate for earnings

Guys I have been doing research all weekend. I will be selling out of pretty much all risky growthtech stocks starting tomorow morning. This market feels eerily similar to the dot com crash back in 2000...Starting from the chart structure - 13 year bull run, before a crash in the summer, lots of death crosses on the charts for growth companies now... all of the new IPO's (same chit as the spacs now) and all of the hype. I was reading articles and message boards from 99' and it sounds exactly like it does today!!! and apparently companies like Qualcom and other were doing stock splits, super hyped, and everyone wanted to own them. Lots of people thought stocks were going up for no reason but actually they big companies were doing really well and growing fast! Basically the interest rates were super low then and once the companies showed disappointing earnings and the interest rates increased those stocks went down like crazy. The sectors that did the best for the next decade were energy, commodities, staples, and financials. If you are up quite a bit since last year from tech stocks I would start trimming your positions. Just my .02 .....my guess is we will see a massive crash starting this summer around August. Best of luck

Selling Tesla, Cloudflare, GNOG, and Shopify
Gonna reposition 30% of my portfolio into GOLD, SWN, VALE, and other commodities, 20% into real estate, 15% financials/value stocks, and the rest cash
(these are my opinions i am not a licensed broker by trade)

The crypto song and dance is a dangerous game to be playing IMO. With nothing to fundamentally back up any of the valuations/prices, people will just oscillate from one coin to the next with the hope of buying and selling at the right times

People think BTC has hit a ceiling? Into Dogecoin
Dogecoin hit a ceiling? Into ETH
ETH hit a ceiling? Into CumRocket

Not getting wiped out somewhere along the line is gonna be tricky af. Some people will get lucky, a lot of people will lose out big time. I don’t really understand even wanting to be involved in this tbh.

market works on cycles if you been holding tsla/shop/net long and are up on it from last year there would be no reason to sell now, you should have sold January.

if you bought tsla/net/sop in peak January than you're phucked

what you should do is get vale / and whatever other shiit now / month ago as hedge to protect your above positions from inflation.

this is that rule that you should never fully invest always have cash ready in case things go to shiit

at end of day index funds win

With interest rates having nowhere but to go higher, stocks will reflect that and appreciate as well. I do not forsee a crash like March 2020 happening for many many more years. Just buy the 10-15% correction, whenever that may be, and any other dips. This sucks but where else are people going to park their money?

a lot of stocks have already had a correction since their january peaks, mostly tech
im hoping that was the correction, and not a precursor for another.
then you have growth plays which are down considerably, maybe these are bargain prices we are seeing now, who really knows

i personally think this 'crash' people are speaking of is brewing, but it'll come once this covid sh*t is behind us and the world wakes up for real. maybe late this year or early next year

'crash' is what happened last year.

10-15 percent pullback is not crash even in normal times over year that is healthy.

there has to be sellers otherwise it would be straight to moon.

I'm assuming most institutions sold PLTR during the January craze when PLTR was in the 40's so it's not really a surprise. Nothing about PLTR's fundamentals have changed but it would've been stupid for them not to sell at the time.

might be apples and oranges, but pltr selloff reminds me of tsla selloff in 2019 , before it went on that crazy run. My only regret is not being able to buy more right now.

Im up 100% on many tech stocks ..up 300% on tesla...I'd rather cash out than wait for it go back to ATH ...interest rates have nowhere to go but up and you saw how sensitive the nasdaq is when they even mention a rate hike..stocks dont go up forever, thats what they thought in 2000 before everything his the fan. Stocks go in cycles and the tech sector outperformed for the last 10 years, it wont be for the next 10 years. Its time for commodities, financials, staples, and real estate

Some tech stuff is probably fine. Just buy stuff that has financials that back it up. Consider that funds still need to try and beat the overall market so IMO large cap techs are out and mid/small caps are gonna be "in" cuz reasonable growth

well fortunately he has a massive amount of money to be able to get his average lower

think of his followers, who have very modest accounts most likely - seeing him buy in at 400+, then 380 i believe it was. no doubt at all they blindly did the same, probably with a lot of cash
