Escape may be toast. I don't know. I would guess it will be totaled, but maybe I will be surprised.
Ugh, I remember when SonB totaled his first car. Insurance rates are finally normalized. That was 4 years ago, I think.

You said that nobody responded to him for 50 seconds. I said that it looked like he'd killed/was the rest of the "response", based on what I saw in the video (volume of fire, angles present). Your contention was that it was impossible that he'd killed any other members of the security detail. I was arguing that it was very possible, based on the camera angles available to us and the number of shots fired.

My mom referred to me as the "Car Assassin" when I first started driving. Glad he wasn't hurt too badly. Hopefully he walks away from this with an appreciation for how dangerous driving can be and how seriously it needs to be taken.

She's doing much better. Fever is gone, Amoxicillin is apparently doing its job, and it looks like we got her in to the ER in the early stages.

My contention was that nobody responded to him for at least the 50 seconds of the video.

Your contention was that there were multiple other members of the security detail all in point shooting range, probably at the 'camera line', and that he took out all of them in the 3 seconds of shooting.

You can continue to backpedal though I'll just sit here with my popcorn.

I was going to ask if you had the pleasure of dealing with that yet. Sounds like the answer is yes.

This was classic ignore-everything-dad-warned-me-about rookie driver boneheadedness. Turning left at an intersection at a light from the turn lane . . . he was expecting an arrow but he just pulled up and stopped and it wasn't enough to trip the arrow. So . . . sees green and goes ahead and turns. Trouble was, there was no arrow and so was green in both directions and the oncoming traffic had not had to stop yet--they were just slowing down. Wham.

Naturally, I grabbed the dashcam and checked it when we got home. Sure enough . . . little phukker was on the phone (bluetooth in the car) chatting with some sloot while he was pulling up to the light and was yakking at her while he was turning rather than paying attention to what he was doing and looking at. Should have been a fly on the wall for THAT confrontation with the laptop.

Got some Aero black nitride BCG's in today.
Dudes, the staking and finish on these things absolutely chits on any BCM, DD, Spike's, you name it BCG I've ever handled.

No backpedaling at all. I said that he shot any other security members present, who wouldn't have been in the field of view of the camera. Apparently there weren't any other security members there, and he just unloaded into the Ambassador.

According to the present reports, it appears that there were 0. From the initial video, based on the field of view, the fact that it's extremely uncommon for Ambassadors in ****hole countries to rely exclusively on foreign security, and the number of shots fired, coupled with the Ambassador not being ruled dead at the scene, I would've thought there were 1 or 2 additional security detail members. I thought that 1 additional member was the most likely, but that 2 were possible.

Funny the conclusion I drew was correct.

I won't re-explain how I reached the conclusion since it being correct speaks for itself.

You thought that the amount of time spent shooting was insufficient to incapacitate multiple targets. I and others disagreed with you. Your happening to have been correct does not mean that my analysis was bad, simply that he fired all of his shots into one target, rather than several. Considering that we couldn't even see the shooter while he was shooting and that there was no indication as to how many times the principle target was shot (other than at least twice), the logical inference was that there had been multiple members of the detail who were off camera, rather than that the shooter was the only member of the security detail, because the fact that he was the only member of the security detail for the Russian Ambassador given the geopolitical situation in Turkey/Syria right now is absolutely insane.

I thought that nobody responded to the assassin for at least the 50 seconds of the video, for multiple reasons, articulated and not.

You disagreed.

You were wrong.

And yet, you continue to bring the lulz by explaining why you thought incorrectly.

I thought that the "response" was getting shot while in a state of total surprise resulting in no action taken against the shooter.
